This poll was inspired by Bonzo’s “Do you use a tuner” thread. Why stop there? What else do you use? Besides, what else are you going to do until the RMC-1 and XMC-2 come out. (apologies to non-XMC-1 owners, but maybe you understand why.) (I thought about adding outputs, but this took long enough) 🤔

I just use 3 HDMI (Spectrum Cable, Oppo 105, and PC) and the balanced input (Geek DAC). I did use the USB in for a while to use the XMC-1 DAC for 2 channel before I got the Geek. And, I used one of the analog in's for my phono before I got my PrimaLuna tube amp...now I run the phono into it.

Oppo 203, AppleTV, Roku3, antenna for the FM tuner. (I have a separate 2ch system, but sometimes choose to listen to my local radio broadcast while watching the game on ESPN).

Only HDMI (1,2,3) for me, analogue inputs go to the XSP-1.

Not listing all the possibilities really makes this poll incomplete. Outputs are important to some of us here, and I guarantee people out there use them. Maybe make it a separate poll? (Since you can't edit it now)

(Oh, and if you get a call from a guy named Bonzo wanting for your Vote, ask him how he’s going to pay for this infrastructure project?) 😆

HDMI 1, Oppo 203 99% of my use Occasionally I will take my Apple TV into the theater room or play an Xbox game. Both are extremely rare, but in those cases I’ll pop them into HDMI 2

A couple things of interest here. No surprise that HDMI has so many connections and most have 3, but odd that 2 people possibly are using HDMI 7 but not 5 or 6? and a couple may be using all 8 inputs! 1 in 6 using ARC.
About a third using analog (balanced and RCA), but just a couple with 7.1 (we know who one is). No surprise really that TOSLink is the most popular digital connection after HDMI, many devices have no Coax option. USB makes a respectable showing as does FM (even 2 with AM!)
Anything that surprises you?

I'm surprised people use AM. Shocked, really.
I don't see any reason to use FM without HD Radio.

I'm surprised people use AM. Shocked, really. I don't see any reason to use FM without HD Radio. Yes HD Radio would be preferred, but two reasons for me, during Florida State football, basketball and baseball games I use the local FM station that broadcasts our games instead of the many times biased TV sports crew, and I also often listen to two other different local FM home improvement/diy talk show stations while working around the house and such. I’ve learned lots of diy info that I may not use immediately, that has really come in handy at a later date. As for the inputs I mainly use, HDMI 1/2/3/4/5, balanced input, FM, and toslink.

I'm surprised people use AM. Shocked, really. I don't see any reason to use FM without HD Radio. I'm also surprised people use the AM on the XMC-1. I do listen to AM occasionally in my car but never in my critical listening room - where the XMC-1 is. I've not connected an AM or FM antenna to my pre/pro or 2 channel receiver for over 15 years. I can listen to AM via Sonos but I rarely do. I think the only time I have done that was when I wanted to listen to a local home improvement show while I sat on the deck. Mark

Mark I use my Amazon Alexa every weekday morning to listen to AM radio. We have local radio show suppling information and upcoming events as well as local opinions. On the same station following this show (two hours daily) we have a statewide show. I cannot remember last time I had an antenna connection to an AVR Or my Processor.

6 HDMI and the USB...part of the demo that is hosing you Bonzo. The only analog input I've ever used is the front panel, a handful of times.

I'm surprised people use AM. Shocked, really. I don't see any reason to use FM without HD Radio. I second that. I find standard FM to sound thin and lacking fidelity. HD Radio, in my experience, can be outstanding. There's a classical station here that doesn't compress too much and their HD Radio stream is so good.

I added a vote onto mine. I now use 4 HDMI inputs and the balanced stereo input. The 4th HDMI was due to adding an nvidia Shield as a Plex Server (and to play files from Plex to my home theater).

I now and then listen to the local classical, jazz, and NPR FM stations at home, they have decent programming and sound pretty good. Now that I only have a UHF antenna for OTA TV, I’ve had to put an old settop VHF antenna up in my network closet, I’d like to find a small outdoor FM antenna, but very low priority. I’ll miss the tape out on the XMC-2/RMC-1/L (whatever I end up with), but I think I can make do. Since this came back up, here’s the output poll: XMC-1 Output Poll

Only two HDMI inputs. My HTPC is my gateway to the digital world. Oppo on the other. I'm using the balanced inputs for my phono pre-amp (Sherbourn Pre-1). FM antenna.
