Okay, I resolved the problem although I did so by going the brute force route of performing a factory reset. After the reset, my measurement (of a random set of four samples midway through the chirp) looks as follows: xmc chirp exerpt 5 after fact reset.txt 2 channels (stereo) Left channel then Right channel on same line. Sample Rate: 96000 Hz. Sample values on dB scale. Length processed: 4 samples 0.00004 seconds. -12.46178 -12.46046 -9.18655 -9.19014 -8.45263 -8.45940 -9.81182 -9.82263 These four match within a hundredth of a dB; I can tolerate that So now I need to rerun the Dirac room correction to see if that same 1.5 dB offset shows up again afterwards.

You are now in a good place to move forward and see. Certainly unlikely anything is wrong with your XMC based on this. I just made some subtle configuration changes and then saved, restored and backed up. We had some storm related power fluctuation and I wasn't sure if even there was anything wrong, but did it as an exercise. Things have been good for so long, I got rusty on the setup, so it was a good thing. I had moved my center channel forward a bit so confirmation there was the motivator.

Which preset are you using when measuring? If it's the dirac setting it could be that the "calibrated" levels are still applied. You can try/test using one of the other presets and make sure there are no volume adjustments.
