This album is without a doubt a staple in our house anymore. It is just so uniquely beautiful in so many ways. It's also very well recorded in my opinion with very good sound quality.
Here is a link to the entire album so perhaps you can see what I'm referring to. Not your typical Christmas album.

Wow - got a somewhat "Grinchy" crowd around here (then again, I know - we ALL don't necessarily celebrate the same Holidays - not trying to offend anybody...) Yeah - I like that Yoyo Ma one when I'm feeling relaxed / mellow, like lounging the day AFTER with a big-ol' fire going in the fireplace. (sometimes, it seems a little too subdued) For an "Upbeat" change-of-pace - I'm also liking the Brian Setzer Orchestra www.amazon.com/Rockin-Rudolph-Brian-Setzer-Orchestra/dp/B013JB2LZS/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_15_img_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=NP1WB5X88P37ZXGYT8GJWent to a TSO show a few years ago, BIL got cheap seats that sucked (up high and side-stage). If you're gonna' experience something like the TSO Live - do it right and get GOOD seats! Our nephew was pretty young at the time and he got a big kick out of it. I like their stuff in small doses, but to me turning Christmas into a big "Hollywood" production just seems wrong in some way. If I want to see a show with pyrotechnics, moving stages, and a big light / laser show - I'd much rather see a REAL Rock Band strut their stuff.

Interesting, because if memory recalls, you are the same person who in other threads has basically said there is no such thing as bad music, it's all art and all worth appreciating. Or at least that's the gist of what you said. I suggest you listen to the Yo Yo Ma link I posted above. I can't imagine a true music lover like yourself won't find something to appreciate. You must listen to the entire album though, it's got quite a variety.

I'm a huge fan of all Harry Connick Jr's CD's and music, and his holiday stuff is no different. His arrangements of the classic are awesome, and I also really like his originals.
Here's one of the more pop style newer tunes I like, and I'm not usually into pop.

It's called taste.

It's called taste. Seems to me you are calling it bad when you say.... "crap" being the key word. So I'd say we are now discussing semantics. As I say, my Bonzo original quote, "When it comes to music, just because you love it does not make it good, and just because you hate it doesn't make it bad." This idea goes right over most people's head, at least the ones I've encountered. Seriously, check out the Yo Yo Ma.

Have not yet heard B.E. Taylor Christmas2 yet. Mark

I greatly prefer not listening to X-mas music. To each his own. ....... and yes I have and still do have good family memories about love peace and happiness, etc., man, it’s just the music tends to suck for me.........😁

This whole Singers Unlimited album is great. I listen to this one year round just for the recording quality and vocal artistry: Similarly, this album is awesome just for the musical talent:
