To clarify, what I mean is that the current hardware is capable of being configured in the above fashions through some slight revisions of the code and menus (though I’m no software engineer). Granted it would only be three subs. ... Thanks for the clarification, that makes sense and I guess that’s what I’m asking them to do, give us a capability that (to me) seems simple, but isn’t currently available. I’d only want it for Reference Stereo with two subs.

Hi Guys.
Greetings from Germany. I am a new owner of a RMC-1 and XPA 5 Gen3. I am absolutely thrilled with the sound and I'm looking forward to the firmware update with dirac live. Unfortunately, emotiva is an absolutely unknown brand in Germany. I hope that will change.

Hello, I'm from France and I have a Rmc-1 for a month and I'm delighted, I have 2 important question for keith and lonnie ? - how to display the parameters (audio 7.3.6) how on the right display as on picture - Why there is such a big dynamic difference between DSU and Neural: x switching from one to another with a pcm 2.0 file. With Neural: x the sound is very flat ? Thank you for what you do, I already had a lot of fun with the xmc-1 ... with the RMC-1 is the grail

I have seen the Q asked before in a couple of ways but it seams to me, by reduced traffic on this thread, that v1.5 has made substantial progress in fixing a lot of the problems that were remaining? In general do people feel that this is the case and now onward to Dirac?
From what I have read - still some lingering HDMI issues (mainly around using both outputs to two display devices) - one or two devices still causing issues but if I read right they caused issues on prev processing equipment as well - one case of a stream dropping from multi-channel to 2 channel?
Otherwise far better than where we started.

With regard to Dolby's reversal the question is, will Emo spend the time/money to undo the the restrictions already encoded in their firmware? Personally, neither the DSU nor DTS:X upmixers do as good a job of upmixing as Harman's Logic 7 did with my old Lexicon MC12. Regardless, it would be nice to have options/choice.

I would guess if enough people ask for it they will do it. I don't know if it's really a big deal as the Dolby Surround upmixer works pretty well, but all things being equal it would be nice ot have the option of DTS:X Netural upmixer as well.

This is great news for people who are upset about the pinned Atmos. Not as many drawbacks to going past 7.1.4 if the majority of your content is Disney like I’ve heard from some. Auro upmixing has more utility now so I wonder if that will be rethought.

I just read this on the Monolith HTP-1 website: DTS:X only supports 7.1.4, however, we allow our users to turn to a feature that extends the 7.1.4 signal to 9.1.6. will it be possible on the RMC-1?

That display was from earlier versions of the product. The final product's screens don't output information like that. Must admit I prefer the info shown on the earlier version. Is there anyway that could be brought back? Yes and no at the same time, the problem is this. All Dolby Atmos is embedded in a True HD stream, so the display would always show Dolby True HD 7.1 and the object channel count would be constantly bouncing around as objects appeared and went away unless the movie had pinned channels. We have discussed this on many occasions here as to what is best to show on the display and we always come back to the same conclusion. If its Atmos, just show Atmos, otherwise we will get thousands of calls about the processor being defective because the display is constantly changing or that it is defective because it is showing True HD and not Atmos. So rather then try to explain to the world about how Atmos works it is just better if we simply show less. Hope this helps to explain things. Lonnie

[EDIT...... ]
I stand updated on this...
So we're back to "considering it - depending on how much work is involved"...
(However, it is far more complicated than "flipping a switch", so we shall see...)
There's really nothing to rethink...
We are a licensee of the Dolby Atmos technology...
And, as per Dolby's license requirements, our users may not be permitted to use any commercially available upmixer with Dolby Atmos content.
So, even if the RMC-1 included Auro3D, Dolby's licensing restrictions forbid us, or any other licensee of the Dolby Atmos technology, from allowing you to use it with Atmos content.
(We would be allowed to develop our own proprietary upmixer - but we are not allowed to enable upmixing Atmos content with any other commercial upmixer - which includes the Auro3D and DTS-X upmixers.)
This is great news for people who are upset about the pinned Atmos. Not as many drawbacks to going past 7.1.4 if the majority of your content is Disney like I’ve heard from some. Auro upmixing has more utility now so I wonder if that will be rethought.

It also said Emotiva was the only company who has actually followed that rule which didn’t sound right. Maybe what I’m missing is Dolby still doesn’t allow upmixing of its Atmos even if now it will allow neural upmixing if it’s non Atmos?

I don't think anyone is talking about upmixing atmos content but rather dolby 5.1/7.1 content.
