I hope you never have any volume knob issues now that Emotiva has proof of knob abuse 😂😂 don't place the weight of the component on the front panel. Lol I never rested it on the knob. I was holding it completely up. It is very light (about 25lbs). It was fully supported. I'm not stupid.......... Do yourself a favor, and stop assuming things, especially, concerning me. If you were just joking, no hard feelings.

My impressions so far:
So, I found some bugs. A factory Reset, and an HDMI cable swap (It worked perfectly fine on my AV8802A from my Panasonic 820) on my 4K player fixed all, except one of them. See my PC specs in my signature, because with my PC hooked up to it via HDMI, I get intermittent sound, and it won't lock on to the Multi-channel PCM coming directly from my 1080Ti graphics card. It will show video perfectly, but sound is super buggy....Calling Emotiva tech support about it in the morning. I bitstream from my optical players, and that works.
I love the fantastic front display on it, but the OSD Menu and GUI is super minimalist, and old-school. Quite jarring, as I've had "pretty" GUI and OSD from high end processors, and receivers, but it gets the job done. HDMI switching is slow, but not that bad. Sometimes there is a delay from the remote presses, and commands.
It is very light. About 25lbs. I was surprised about that when I picked it up.
A handy feature I used, was saving all my settings, input renaming, speaker distances, levels, etc, before I factory restored it. That worked like a charm.
I set up my distances, and levels. No impression on the sound yet!..........I just got this thing, plus DIRAC 2.0 is not out yet, and I have no UMIK-1 mic for REW. I'm looking for a used Cross Spectrum Labs version, if someone wants to lend or sell me one........

Having owned an XMC-1 in the past, I loved the feature of saving all the settings on a USB drive and being able to upload them. Makes quick work of getting back up and running after doing a firmware update or if I started messing around with settings. I always knew it would be easy to get back to my baseline. I have a mic I could possible lend you, but my RMC arrives tomorrow and I'll be using the mic in the upcoming days weeks. Isn't it possible to use the mic that came with the RMC and use REW to create a calibration file for that mic? Then you could see the free mic Emotiva provided and use REW until Dirac is released. Any word on how the channels are assigned to speaker locations?

Hey Geronimo, How do you like the svs prime elevations? and what crossover setting are you using them at, 80hz? SVS Prime Elevations work very well. They were my only choice in my current apt till I buy a house. They are mounted directly to the ceiling over head, but you can mount them to your walls as well. Very versatile. I had a Marantz AV8802A, and Audyssey multiEQ XT32 would set both front & rear heights at at 80, but sometimes it would set the front at 90, and the rear as 80 in various runs of the calibration in the same room (without changing anything).

MENU> SETUP> SPEAKERS> PRESET> SIZE>

I too bought mine in the 2nd batch but am eagerly awaiting. Any comments from up and running owners on heat generation? I am mostly concerned about placing the Pre/Pro in proximity to my Power Amp (Cary Audio Model 7.125) and whether I need to separate them more than a shelf for cooling, thus necessitating a slightly longer XLR run. Thanks!

The Emotiva mic needs a calibration file for REW, if I'm not mistaken. It's been a LONG time since I've used REW without a calibrated mic, but I think I recall being able to use REW to create your own 'calibration' file for a unique mic. You may need a SPL meter to help create that file. I could be wrong since it's been 3 years since I've used REW and that was with my calibrated mic. Might be worth checking into. Hopefully someone with more REW experience will chime in.

Here's a copy of the calibration file that goes with our microphone.
(Note that this was really tweaked to work with Dirac, so it may not be quite as precise as a standardized 90 degree calibration when used with other programs, but it should be at close.)

The RMC-1 doesn't make a lot of heat... However, you don't want to cook it by placing it on top of something else that does. I too bought mine in the 2nd batch but am eagerly awaiting. So is the light ring around the control knob white? Looks that way in pictures.
That SCREAMS "Bonzo's RMC-1S silver edition would look AWESOME." A big silver knob with that white light around it! 😀
Of course blue light would look great too, with a silver knob!! 🤣😁
Never too early to get the old color discussion going. 😂

So, I have dual subs (SVS SB16 ULTRA), am I correct in connecting each to SUB LEFT, SUB RIGHT respectively, then as DUAL MONO in the setup menu? That's how I have it now.
KeithL or anyone at EMOTIVA, Can we get the RMC-1 remote registered in the Logitech Harmony Database already? Thanks in advance.
