Turn everything off, unplug the TV, processor and all sources. Give it 15 seconds or so and then plug it all back in. Give everything a minute to do their behind the scenes stuff. Turn on the processor and then the TV and then sources. I would recommend doing this after a firmware update so everything gets a clean boot. Lonnie Ok, I have completed this. Here is the only change that is different, but an improvement. When I switch to the HTPC, I receive the same issue I reported and have received virtually every time with 3 different FW versions. Switching back to the XBOX did not work prior to unplugging everything. Now, when I switch to the HTPC, it doesn't work, but switching back to the XBOX comes back every time. So, it is an improvement. My video card is an AMD RX 480. Again, reseating the HDMI out to the TV or swapping inputs on the TV correct the issue everytime. I had a strange issue with my laptop. When I connected it to RMC, I first got no picture at all. I tried several different setting but nothing seemed to work. The I tried to lighten the burden on the HDMI cable by trying to lower the resolution. Didn’t work either. Lastly I just tried to change chroma upsampling from sending 4:4:4 to 4:2:0. Now it worked! Not even 4:2:2 worked.. Really strange. This in 1080p resolution.

This is for the XMC-2, right? I've downloaded it twice, but the xmc says "No Update File". I know the file is on the stick. Do I have to rename it or unzip it? Help! /b Edit: FIXED and updated. Was a bad stick!

1.8 is up-and-running. Upgrade went well.
Input switching is still slow with "PLEASE WAIT"; didn't I read something a month ago or so about this 1.8 firmware allowing turning off DSD in settings somewhere which was going to speed up input switching (I use PCM...I'm pretty simple...Apple TV, a Microsoft Surface for Roon, an X-Box, an Oppo, a Blu Ray player and my TV sends audio to the XMC through Toslink for over-the-air HDTV audio). I'll dig through the menus and see if I can find something.
Hoping this version fixes the lockups and no audio issues I have quite often after switching inputs.
Thanks!

This is the first time I’ve been able use ARC with my LG C8, and it’s passing Atmos.

Full disclosure I went from 1.7 which worked very well for me minus the missing information when switching music tracks. The 1.8 install went flawless and the first thing I noticed is that the in between music tracks are picking up much faster. The input switching moves faster and maybe its placebo but the sound especially LFE seemed smoother on a very familiar go to movie track and that's all good things to report.
Now the issue and honestly I didn't have lot of time to investigate but since I run HDMI 1 for Video and Optical 1 for Music the switch back from movie mode to music mode would not lock as it did in 1.7 unless I switch to another input example tuner and then back. I have seen issues like them resolve themselves from a power cycle and time so we will see this weekend when music and movie watching start up again.

Both HDR and Dolby Vision are passing with all of my 4K sources! For my setup, this is definitely the most robust firmware I’ve used to date. The work with ARC and HDMI-CEC has been a definite bonus for me!!!

I wish my C7 would go back to working again for ARC but it’s so temperamental. Well when it does work, Emotiva has their end fixed.

Unfortunately he likely needed to unplug the unit for a bit and plug it back in before testing.
I would almost bet the results would have come out much different.
But oh well. Now Emotiva RMC-1 looks to be one of the worst processors ever released.
I turn my unit fully off after ever use. Otherwise stability issues and sound issues build up. Pretty sad unfortunately.

Fairly scathing results and commentary to boot, would love to see someone else perform the same tests as a reference point.

What recent av processor then??? Looking at other reviews on audioscience it seems like he is frustrated with the current state of things with many brands. Are we better off just giving them all a miss? Disappointing.
