Hey all, so I picked up a pair of passive velodyne SC-10 subwoofers for pretty cheap (I know, I know - I've been eyeing a few other things and this was more or less an impulse buy). Anyways, I'm currently looking at amps for the subs, and I'm wondering if I need a "subwoofer" amp with dsp/filters/crossovers etc or because it will be coming out of the XMC-1, would a dummy amp work? I've seen references in other threads that the subs crossover should be defeated or cranked to their max, and to let the XMC-1 and dirac do their thing. Just want to confirm before purchasing. Thanks!

If you are using a processor like the XMC-1 then it will control the Xover and level of the subwoofer and is appropriate to drive any amp.

Thanks! Go over to chane audio and pick up the mq600 amp. Baller for the price. Use your processor for control as dyohn suggested.
