As we've talked about many times already Nick, it will be more and less than an XMC-1. More: Newer processing Atmos and DTS-X capable, up to 7.2.4 L-C-R channels fully balanced (center added so only 1 more than before) Less: No 7.1 analog input Less analog inputs No RCA amp outputs No analog record out Expected to sell for $3000. Once Hair Nick provides a picture of the back this will be confirmed. I'm sure I'm missing things so will update this once I see the picture. Any News when then XMC-2 will hit the market ? Will RMC-1L come first in March/April and then XMC-2 after or the same time ?

History has proven that whatever timeline Emotiva states, you can more or less double it. Their dates have never worked out.

Will it be DLNA capable?

Doubt it - DLNA isn't "in vouge" these days. And the XMC-1 has ethernet capability only for Dirac. What do you want to use DLNA for?

How about USB DAC? Would it accept 5.1 or still 2.0?

For Plex, I use a Roku. Works perfectly with the XMC-1

For Plex, I use a Roku. Works perfectly with the XMC-1 I also have an XMC-1 and I use Plex through Oppo/XMC-1. Is there going to be a trade-in program for XMC-1 to XMC-2? Is it even useful to me since I have a 5.1 (soon to be 5.2) system?

Resurrection, since the XMC-2 is the only way to get an Atmos/DTSX upgrade for us XMC-1 owners.
The only question I have is when?
Cheers Gary

Thanks for info and run into official Axona thread to and checked it out. emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/54827/official-axpona-2019-threadFor me i waited for the XMC-2 along time because XMC-1 didnt have Hdmi 2.0 and Atmos. Now when they upgraded the processor to 9.1.6 its even better and they stayed on same price 2999 USD. I predict this unit will be a big hit for Emotiva product line

XMC-2 not what I expected or hoped for. I want more options, not less- at the very, very lease wifi control. A non-Emotiva pre/pro, receiver into standalone MiniDSP Dirac is now on my shopping list.

I think most would consider the XMC-2 an upgrade over the XMC-1 (Bonzo’s comments notwithstanding). While WiFi might be desirable for some, I prefer hardwired connections wherever possible, though understand if you need that, then you must look elsewhere.

If by “WiFi control” you mean an app based replacement for the handheld remote control, that “feature” has existed for the XMC-1 for quite some time (although hardly ever mentioned or discussed) and I see no reason why the same wouldn’t exist for the XMC-2. Why shoot it down when very little details other than basic hardware and aesthetics are known...?

If I had my druthers, I'd order any of these new processors with a network interface board (with Roon end-point support) in-place of the FM Tuner. Roon provides the streaming interface needed, even multi-channel, gap-less.
I know 50% voted for FM tuners, but the time has passed. Better to provide an outboard FM tuner.

(I gave up trying to quote within the box) "If by “WiFi control” you mean an app based replacement for the handheld remote control, that “feature” has existed for the XMC-1 for quite some time (although hardly ever mentioned or discussed) and I see no reason why the same wouldn’t exist for the XMC-2." The app and functionality are flaky at best. The app will indeed connect to the XMC-1 and let me issue a command such as change input or volume level. As soon as I put the phone back into my pocket it will no longer work until I stop the app and restart it. If I have company, I will seek out the XMC's remote rather subject them to my frustration. FTR, XMC has static IP lease.

FTR, XMC has static IP lease. Although I don’t use it as a replacement for my Harmony remote, the app has run flawlessly for me using an iPad Mini. I’ve never had it drop the connection to my XMC-1 even after the tablet has gone to sleep.
