XLR is just a physical connector.... and it is arranged so that it CAN support a fully balanced connection.
MOST vendors only use XLR connectors for real balanced connections - but there have been exceptions. (An RCA plug only has one conductor and one shield - so it can ONLY be used for an UNBALANCED connection - unless they do something really odd like float the shield.)
But he marantz units are not fully balanced the same way that the rmc is. Xlr does not equal fully balanced. Or does it ?

Marantz does it the same as the XMC, except for the XMC's front 2, which is more than good enough for surrounds. It's the biggest reason why people will just upgrade to the Atmos board, or wait for the XMC-2, instead of paying the extra $1-2k for the RMC.

What is the latest on price on this Units are it 2999 USD for XMC-2, RMC-1L 3999 USD and last RMC-1 4999 USD ?
