Hi guys, I am thinking about finally diving in an upgrading the HDMI board on my XMC-1. I have an LG OLED 4k TV. I know I am going to need to upgrade all of my HDMI cables and I want to know what people suggest using.
To be clear, I do not believe in super special gold plated silver HDMI cables, I just need good HDMI cables that are able to properly handle 18GB HDR. Most of the cables need to be between 3ft and 6ft long, the run from the XMC-1 to the TV will need to be between 10ft and 15ft.
Can you guys who have things working and are happy with your cables post what you're using and provide links?
Thank guys!

I use the Emotiva Z-HDMI cables for any and all HDMI applications. They have proven to pass all 4K/Dolby Vision/HDR10 content I've thrown at them. They are good quality and flexible as well, and at the sale pricing a steal as well. 0.5m is $7.50, 1m is $10 and 2m is $12.50. emotiva.com/collections/accessories/products/zhdmi

Don't buy Best Buy brand cables! I needed new cables because the ones I had were not 18gb certified and were glitching, so I bought Insignia branded "certified" 18gb cables and they gave me nothing but issues. After replacing all the cables with them even my DirecTV Genie, running 1080i, would not longer handshake at 1080 most the time. When watching 4k movies the signal would be lost intermittently at least once a movie and I had to re-plug the cable.
Despite knowing that high bandwidth signals required decent cables, until those cables, I never really experienced issues before. I replaced them all with cheapo Monoprice cables from Amazon and haven't had an issue since (knocks wood). Maybe I just got a bad batch, who knows.

I'm a big fan of Monoprice cables. Prices are reasonable and the cables are sold based on *specs* not on marketing terms. Do you want a 4K @ 60Hz, HDR, 18Gbps, 30AWG, YUV 4:4:4, CL2, 25ft with active components, they have thatDo you want the same cable, but passive (shorter max length and higher gauge wires), they have thatDo you want the same spec in a super-slim cable for short runs? they have that
Super sexy but probably overbuilt XLR cables? they have that

So there are certainly bargains out there which aren't hdmi alliance certified ; just well manufactured..

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMIOf all places (beyond HDMI .org) Wikipedia above is a good read for the fundamentals on the interface, if interested. Bill

I spent over a year trying to find an HDMI cable that wouldn't drop out video and/or audio with 25' runs. Never tried the crazy high priced cables and settled on one in the $200 range that is exceptional. Scott

What does pid# in the sound vision web site mean as just bought new cable from Monoprice, hope i got the right ones. Found this Mick ; "PID may refer to any of the following: 1. Short for product identification or product id, PID is a unique number that helps identify a hardware product or a registered software product." As long as yours have the certified alliance logo on the package you should be fine up to 15 feet or so . I steer clear of any active chip redmere type as they don't have a good track record as David notes on page 1

Thanks for that Bootman, funny thing was i was reading about the LG OLED 2.1 again last night at it appears its not worth waiting for, as there isn't any other components that have 2.1 either, well i guess the 2.1 cables wont go to waste as i can still use them. bought them from Monoprice at a good price so no harm done. Cheers

Those are only rated for 10.2Gbps. I would recommend against them.

Another fan of Monoprice here. I buy all my cables there. I'm constantly rearranging my components or cabinet configuration and I always try to find the shortest cables I can get away with. Unfortunately I often mess up on the lengths so I have TONS of cables lying around. I could probably open up my own cable shop. I bought these ones: www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024021&p_id=34210&seq=1&format=2Work great for me.

I use the active cable for my projector, and the above cables for all of my components. I have no trouble getting HDR, 4:4:4, 4K to my projector form the Apple TV passing through my Marantz. Can't beat them at the price point IMO.
