This isn't bait. I honestly would like to know what made in the USA amps you prefer. Schiit, Ayre, McIntosh Labs, Linear Tube Audio, Pass Labs, Rogue Audio...did I miss any? The USA grade comment was just a play on words using it with the word appetite in the sentence. ...not a fan of word play? If you say so; then it's easy - I don't have a preference amongst made in the USA amps.

Personally I have heard about more quality problems since Emotiva brought assembly back to the US, then they had direct from China. It's hard to find quality experienced production workers down south, most are northern transfers. If I was going with a multi channel amp right now I would look around, there are plenty of manufacturers to choose from...including ToneWinner (at a lower price) which built Emotiva amps for a decade. I would lean towards Bryston for any future amps I buy, unless it were an absolute steal. Certainly everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm going to have to come to the defense of our team on this one. We have very tight procedures to ensure quality, and we've expanded our team in recent to include some very talented production staff. We truly care about the work that we do, and I think it shows.

I guess I have just seen a large uptick in unhappy buyers this past year or so. All you need to do is check into the different Emotiva Facebook groups to see many people that have been dealing with issues. Most on new A-300 amps or PT-100 preamps. I have sent a lot of these people to Emotiva because of my prior purchases and happiness with reliability but it is hard to assure people with continued problems. Feel free to check out the sites for yourself.

Just curious.

FYI... the only amps made in Franklin are the XPA and DR series. the XMC and the RMC are also assembled in Franklin. all others are manufactured in china icluding PT-100 and A-300. if there is an increase in manufacturing related defects (which could or could not be true since no one other than emotiva knows the numbers) it would seem that it is happening overseas and not in Franklin. tchaik............ btw... I have personally purchased 3 PT 100's and 2 TA-100's on separate occasions for family members and friends and have had not a single issue in 18 months with those products. don't ask me to go to other sites on facebook since I prefer to stay away from sites where all people tend to do is complain. and Teaman..... try not to belittle others by telling them to go drink the koolaide when you disagree with their opinion. adults tend to avoid that kind of behavior.

Emotiva makes excellent amps; there isn't a bad (or even mediocre) apple in the bunch. To the original OP, I wouldn't pay $375 for an XPA-200; I think patience and monitoring the used market will get you a better deal than that.

I beg to disagree my friend. I don't think it resembles that amp! The XPA-200 is quite a bit beefier in build. XPA-200 Note they have separate XPA series amp blades per channel, more capacitance, heatsinks and no fans. A-300: Note a single amp blade for two channels, (maybe) less capacitance, small heatsink and a fan. Stereo gear with fans are an automatic NO-Buy for me. Not only are they failure prone, sometimes noisy, but will ALWAYS be dust and grime collectors that will require periodic cleaning. Large heat-sinks with good convection cooling is far more reliable under normal operation conditions. Emotiva's usage of fans in their lower tier amps is simply a bad move IMHO.

I like how the goal posts keep shifting. First jobs, then 100% USA grade. Can't wait to see the next one. Schiit, Ayre, McIntosh Labs, Linear Tube Audio, Pass Labs, Rogue Audio...did I miss any? Odyssey. I have had a Stratos model for many years and have no desire to upgrade.
