The title says it all... A pair of PA-1 amps with a pair of the new $650 pair of Magnepan LRS speakers. The PA-1 is essentially a Bang & Olufsen unit, 300 watts into 4 ohm... Build some little stands to place the amps on, pull the Maggi's out with the amps and enjoy. An XLR switch from the main system to swap between amps, I use the Little Bear XLR switches, and they are DEAD silent... Tuck the Maggi's back into the wall when you are through with your little listening session. I personally think that would be a helluva pairing. Any thoughts on the B&O Class D amps and the new LRS Maggi's?

Great plan. I would do exactly the same, we're I in the market for amplification and/or speakers. If you go with it, keep us posted as to how it sounds. Those LRS are sooo tempting!

Will do, just hope I can get some info on these PA-1 amps, not much anywhere on these things. Will be a few weeks before I pull the trigger, need to get back to work... Been off since December. And copy the tempting... I am salivating... ;-) I am picturing the Maggi's in my room right now, with the little PA-1 amps and stands... Oh mannnnnnnnn........

Local, Read thru reviews of ICE amps. They all sound pretty much the same with similar characteristics and limits. Do you have any reviewers you particularly DO or Do Not trust? That's important. Random reviews never meant much to me.
I suspect that after owning some ICE amps, an ASP equipped integrated from PSAudio, that the ASC monos from EMO could be just the ticket for the 'upgrade' of the MMG to the LRS.......
I had my amp ALSO connected to magnepans.....MG1.6

A powerful 3 pound amp can be very appealing!

I’m still using the PA-1’s with my Magnepan 20.1R’s. Though I’ve been away from my system for some time, my wife recently mentioned how much she likes the way the two channel system sounds (including the PA-1 and Maggie’s). I wrote previously that the PA-1’s don’t have quite enough power for the 20.1’s in my very large room, but that I enjoy the sound very much. I’d still recommend them for many systems, here’s what I wrote in the PA-1 thread: emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/963105/thread

Please check over on Audio Asylum for help with your Magnepan issue. A listening over THERE is asking the same question about Magnepan and the PA-1
This is a good sign, since the knowledge base on AA is very broad and deep.
