The RSP-1 i just got seems to sound more pronounced on 1 side than the other. It may be my speaker. Ill try and check that this eve.
Will emotiva even repair since its so old ?
Probably not worth it my guess

Probably not worth it my guess I suggest returning the defective gear because I assume the person didn't tell you about it.

I already mentioned it and he said he never noticed that.

You can switch the rca cables connected to the xsp1. If the loudness on one side switches places then it’s your CD player or rca cable. If it stays without changing sides then it’s the xsp1 Ot something further downstream from the xsp1. You can also test using headphones and connect your smartphone to an rca input using the phones headphones jack. U can then go to you tube and play a left right channel test

If there wasn't an expressed or written warranty other than the unit worked to the best of the seller's ability to discern then he's out of luck. That's the kick about buying used gear, especially gear that's 10+ years old.

How many CDs have you listened to with the unit? How many decibels is it off? What were your SPL readings?

How is it "not working"? Please quantify your answer.

I pulled the RSP out cause I picked up an Anthem AVM-20 for $80. I hooked up the anthem and the cd sounded pretty much the same so I concluded it was not the RSP and I sold the RSP cause the anthem has so many more options.
so for now I am not running any emo.
thanks as always guys
