Well I am finally going to try some expensive speaker cables...I long thought that Super Expensive cables were snake oil and not necessary (and still kinda do) However my 2 Channel system is as good as I have ever had and could have hoped to attain, so what next? Well I thought I would try some speaker cables that come highly recommended and well reviewed the Straight Wire Crescendo III they list for $2,200 and (as you all guessed) I really stole them preowned for $550. I currently use 9' Legend Audio Bi-wire with bananas the new cable will be all spades and 6' I have moved my amps to stands close to the new GE's . They are being delivered Monday and I am anxious to see if there is a difference. I am not now, nor ever will be the guy to "justify" an expenditure so I promise everyone a real world evaluation. I am as curious as I am sure most of you are about the possible benefits of high(er) end cabling. I did a copious amount of reading/research on the subject both the pros and cons before I decided to even risk a $450 purchase.

You thought 💭 right.....putting on the brakes before you get sucker punched would be the SMARTEST thing you could do.

I am quite sure you will hear a difference after all that research and money. I am equally sure you would not in a blind test...

Sounds like a really nice discount. And not the worst loss of money if it ends up not sounding any different.
Have someone help you do a blind test.. with an extra set to make it three.. and use plain old super cheap speaker wire.. or lamp cord as the 3rd choice.
Would be fun to hear results.

Funny, this ongoing topic had me taking a look back at the timeline of the interconnects used in my current system. The very last wires bought were the X series HDMI’S from Emo. But I’ve got wires that go back as far a 1988 in there. Why?? Because there is no benefit to throwing away a perfectly good piece of copper hardware that meets and exceeds the resistance requirements of the application. Nothing for nothing, but my piggy 🐷 bank WOULD let me run out there and grab those Cadillac wires if the magic were true, but my brain 🧠 won’t let it happen, so Home Depot got it done for chump change.

Bah! To the nay sayers! They will give you a consistent overall synergy and good looking uniformed looking system! They’ll look good doing it and if your reasonable they won’t break the bank! Enjoy your purchase and don’t worry about what others say! You like what you like and they’re your toys! And you’ve spent your own money! Maybe they’ll do nothing for your system, but they’ll look great doing it!

So I take it that you se guys get my Point (s) ? LOLWhat was the price tag on those babies? Four exotic speaker cables! Those could fool you, especially if there is pipe below the waistline.

If you can't measure it you can't hear it. AR Engineers (MIT grads) on The Classic Speaker Pages use lamp cord/zipcord and say that's all that is needed. At least I use decent speaker wire (10AWG)

Remember when we couldn’t measure the distance to other worlds or stars? Thank a woman for that by the way!

Results of a Blind test would be very interesting! Oh Mann!! 40+ years of the SAME tests with the SAME results?? I don't think so! The real problem is that people are not focusing on the only reason WHY we have the speaker wiring in the first place....to BRIDGE the physical distance to the amplifier. Phase and resistance are the only things, truly meaningful and necessary for correct audio reproduction. As always there is that industry out there, that snags the unknowing and takes their wallets for a ride. Bill

I hope the OP enjoys his experience. I recommend experiencing directly things to everyone. It's much more meaningful than reading about it, theorizing about it, or accepting some one else's opinion as the only truth.
