2 other speaker factors influence what you get......
1. Sensitivity. this is how loud a given speaker plays with 1 watt input.......and varies considerably.
2. Actual load. Some speakers are very bad loads, regardless of impedance or sensitivity. When you look at them from an electrical standpoint, they look like a capacitor or inductor to the partnering amp. That characteristic varies across the frequency band and if very extreme one way or the other at a very low impedance, than you can have trouble.....

I ran 5 4 ohm speakers with a Gen 1 XPA-5 for a couple years with no ill effects whatsoever.

I'll add my experience with XPA amps to this. I have a pair of XPA2's, an XPA5, and a pair of XPA1's. They are all driving 4 ohm speakers and none have ever gotten anything more than just warm. As Keith has mentioned, just leave room around the amps so they can breathe. That means don't stack anything on top of them, put them on top of another heat producing device, or place them on any type of carpeted or padded surface.

looks like i will find out myself did a crappy job resizing that Great picture for those of us that have tried to envision the size's of the T2 vs T1.....and that center is HUGE. I thought my Boston Acoustics VR12 was a monster....holy crap batman!!!

An update to my original post on using 4 ohm speakers combined with 8 ohm speaker. After reconfiguring my system with the new airmotivs and listening many times to music and having watched plenty of bluray movie everything is running smooth and sounding good. For the first few days i would get up every 30 minites to an hour to check my amps for heat, none. I ran dirac after having the speakers for 3 or 4 days of break in and things look great, sound great and are running great without issues. The 4 ohm scare has passed and I have broken through it appears not everything on the internet is true lol.
