Good friend of mine just called me and asked if his 2,000 recorded songs on vinyl that he added to his Apple I-Tunes will still be saved. Told him I am sure that his purchased songs on there would be saved but didn't know if his extra songs he added to the site would be saved. Anyone know what's going to happen ? I think he’s talking about iTunes Match, I don’t use it, but I believe it does what you described. According to this article it will still be around. www.cnet.com/how-to/apple-killed-itunes-heres-what-happens-to-your-music-now/

Which is a really compelling reason on numerous levels and leaving that ecosystem is a bit of a tough sell. ... Yeah, I couldn’t leave it, but if I could tack on an appendage I’d give it a try. I’m very much like you and use my iPhone/AppleTV for 90% of my music. I have tidal hifi, and try as hard as I may I can’t hear a difference on my AppleTV from tidal to Apple Music 🔥🔥🔥 Yep, in the winter I’m using my iPhone almost exclusively. At home I play music either through ATV into my surround system, or USB into my two channel system, obviously they sound very different so can’t really compare them, fortunately I like them both.

Before the days of Apple Music, I paid for iTunes Match. I have added a ton of live recordings, demos, and stuff that was never released. A couple years ago, I signed up for Apple Music. I cancelled my iTunes Match, as the ability to upload tracks is also included in Apple Music. All my content is still available to me today, even though I haven't paid for iTunes Match in two years.
