I've recently added a BASX A-700 to my system KLIPSCH RP-500SA Dolby Atmos speakers. I have it triggered from emotiva to my Marantz SR7012 receiver . Which , turn on receiver , now get a loud static sound through my speakers when I first power the system up, it basically happens as soon as the amp powers on and then everything is fine. I am worried that this may cause damage to my speakers.
Other question ? Where I can see a difference between Marantz 7012 only or Marantz 7012 + emotiva a-700 (5 channel connected)? Emotiva BasX A-700 (only 5 channels used, center, front left, front right , Dolby Atmos left and right )
Today!! This is my uses on amp , but now only will use for 2 pairs Dolby Atmos klipsch A140SA front RP -500 SA back Only 4 channels will be 3 free.. can I used? For another speakers front (L,C,R)..because now in 5 channels used.. don’t feel any difference between My receiver Marantz only and Marantz + amp emotiva connect .. Any opinion, advice will be accepted ..

creimes Emos VIPs thanks for response .. first when I turn receiver Marantz sr7012,trigger connect emotiva A700 turn on 1 second later turn on .. and tone loud.. I wanted to make sure you were not turning the amp on first but yeah trigger cable from receiver to amp and turning on receiver is correct, if you disconnect all the cables from the amp and just leave it connected to the power and turn it on does it make any noise, and make sure to power everything off before disconnecting the trigger and rca cables, leave just the power cord connected and when you press the center power button on the amp if it powers up normal with no bad noise it may be the receiver. I thought that was just with mine. I have the same issue. When all the amps startup I hear the pop when the A700 amp engages. Afterwards everything is good. Well at least now I don't have to keep hunting.

XMC-1 to A-700 (and triggered), does not make any pops.

thanks for the details .. the receiver is new, just like the amp .. the difference is that when I turn on the marantz without the emotive amp a700, there is no pop .. however when I turn it on connected to the emotive a700 .. it sounds pop and then it works .. to your question .. I turn on the Marantz receiver after turning on, then turn on the amp and make that sound ..
I will do what you say to disconnect and try ... I do not doubt your experience .. well I am learning one step at a time. my question is . Can it affect my speakers?

The short answer is that, unless that pop is louder than the loudest music you ever play, or you see your woofers move in or out a significant distance when it occurs, then it's unlikely to affect your speakers at all. (Loud is relative... but, as long as it isn't significantly louder than very loud music, then it won't do any more harm than loud music.)
It is a bit odd though.

hello keith, thanks for answering ... the tone is very loud pop .. only at the beginning ... then everything works normal .. only when switching on ... not so when switching off. I'm going to look at the subwoffer. I want to ask you something .. ? buy this emotive amp A700 because they all say, that it is very powerful.
Now I have it connected 5 channels of 7. Emoticon BasX A-700 (only 5 channels used, center, front left, front right, Dolby Atmos left and right) and I really have not felt the difference with respect to the receiver marantz SR7012 ..
Do you think that you should only use them for 4 channels only dolby atmos?

I assume if you turn the amp on first (no trigger), then the Marantz, you also get a pop? If so it sounds like what you need is a ‘trigger delay’, giving the Marantz more time to ‘settle’ before turning on the amp. Some of the Emotiva amps (XPA-1?) have a trigger in / out, the out is slightly delayed to reduce power up surge. It would be nice if the ET-3 (accessory) did that, maybe some other 3rd party product. I don’t suppose the Marantz has an option like that in its settings?

thanks all people tried to help me .. issue solved .. put trigger second connection marantz 7012 ..and voilà..thanks no pop loud.. So you turn your Emotiva on first than the Marantz kicks on. I have the Marantz 7012 also, and with the same issue.
