Of course most amps are AS USED fairly insenstitive to such minor variation in line voltage.
Of course Most amps rarely see more than 4 or 5 watts continuous draw with possible 10db peaks of 50 watts. A 7 channel system being run under those conditions would be fairly LOUD.
And besides all that stuff about the electrical measures of the PS, it STILL only recharges when the caps are below the PS supply voltage and THAN only based on powerline frequency. That's one of the advantages of switchers and why they have small capacitance. They recharge at a very (relatively, anyway) high frequency.
The company I worked for, n addition ot FRED's as a part, ALSO made a series of Buck Convertors. LOTS of that stuff. And while I worked in the fab, I was in touch with many engineers in different places to the point where when I assked, I was shipped the IR 'D' amp reference board and documentatio the next day.. That's when I started looking into Linear PS......
