I see a lot of manufacturers posting "peak amps per channel" specs and I was wondering what this means, and why Emotiva doesn't post these specs? More specifically, for the BasX A-300 in which I own. My current set up consists of the PT-100, A-300, BigEgo, Kef LS50, Onkyo C7030, U-Turn Orbit Custom with Nagaoka MP-110, and the SVS SB2000. Overall, I'm happy with the set up, but it isn't quite as engaging as I would like. Future thanks for the input and advice.

I don't know the answer but it's a good bit more than it can provide RMS. I have heard the KEF LS50's with the A-300. Are you looking for an upgrade path? Dual subwoofers, room treatment - even one behind you on the wall at head level) and a change of speakers (say Eotiva T1 or T2). With the speakers you'll gain better treble and clearer bass. Dual subwoofers you'll gain smoother bass. Room treatments you'll gain better treble and some mid range. Though there's always upgrades for your amp, there's nothing wrong with it. www.amazon.com/ATS-Acoustic-24x48x2-Inches-Beveled/dp/B002WLB0RW/

I'm old enough to remember what manufacturers of audio equipment gave as power output ratings prior to the US Federal Trade Commission getting involved in 1974. There was no way for a consumer to know which amplifiers or receivers actually produced more power output because the manufacturers could put a power rating on their product that was pretty much whatever they wanted to put. "peak power" and "dynamic power" can be anything. That changed when:
