Has it arrived yet? I hope we get some photos when you unbox, and then more info as you setup! 🤓 One area of particular interest will be what version of Firmware it’s running. I would be lieing if I didn't say I was Jealous. Looks amazing. How does it sound? Thinking about getting a XMC2 to replace my Marantz 7702mk2. Have you had any issues with it?

Looks really exciting. As more time goes by and the team at Emotiva keeps on firming up these units, it looks like the XMC-2 and RMC-1 may end up being the killer units we all hoped for.

Geezus.... $399... Will see how/what it actually does. Almost sounds like an automated mso program.

The sound even without Dirac is phenomenal. It’s so detailed and clear and it sounds even better for me because I have been dealing with a Sony receiver and a 20 year old Theta Casanova (although the Theta still sounds pretty darn good). So it’s hard to do an A/B with the XMC1 bc it’s been over a year. I have had zero issues but I have not tested any 4K yet. I need to wait until someone can help me move my LG C7 back downstairs maybe tonight. I hooked up my surrounds and center so I’m 5.1. Im only streaming right now but so far Dolby Atmos material sounds amazing. Even regular tv sounds better than ever. I’m still reserving my “I think Emotiva knocked it out of the park” endorsement until I spend a week or two with it. But so far it’s exceeded all my expectations. This is all before Dirac! Maybe it’s the honeymoon phase lol....we will see.

So is there any auto setup right now without Dirac? Sounds great to hear you aren't having any issues as of yet. Thanks for the response!! Wishing you great luck with it but that may also cost me money too haha!!!

Very encouraging that Dirac continues to refine the bass management module from 3 tiers down to 2 . Fits well with Emos pre pro hierarchy Will hopefully simplify the summing together of multiple subs if adopted.. Was clever of Emo to give the xmc2 a 16CH capability ; undercutting the monoprice htp1 by a grand

Not to mention the monoprice is, as of yet, vaporware. 😎

Wishing you great luck with it but that may also cost me money too haha!!! There was no auto setup. I essentially set the speaker sizes to small and crossover points, distances and levels. I figured I’d wait until Dirac and not bother with REW. Maybe you want to wait until Dirac but I have no problems recommending the XMC2, especially if you have a relatively simple setup.

... I have no problems recommending the XMC2,.. Just curious, what are you basing the recommendation on? You system setup says you XMC-2 is "on the way". Have you heard it yet? Does it work as advertised? Given the birthing issues one reads about here with the XMC-1 and, more recently, the RMC-1, does anyone have any comment as to whether the launch that I got the email blast about today is for fully ready units, or will be going through another wave of "buyers as beta testers"? From a specs and features standpoint the XMC-2 lo0oks to be a good value in its price band, but the $64 question is whether it will have as many bugs and need for SW updates as its predecessors have.needed> I want to buy it, but I also want it to work as advertised out of the box. I may just wait to see what the folks here encounter as a safety valve. Have you heard/used it in a typical in-home environment?

It’s excellent and I have had zero problems thus far but I have not done anything regarding 4K yet. I’m basing my comments based on my own experiences. I am using it in a typical home environment. Since the firmware for the XMC-2/RMC-1/RMC-1L is shared across all 3 processors, and now that firmware versions 1.4 & 1.5 have cleaned up much of what current RMC-1 owners have reported, it looks quite promising for the XMC-2. Much has been learned and fixed on the RMC-1, and from a XMC-2 perspective it will most definitely benefit.

Given the birthing issues one reads about here with the XMC-1... What birthing issues for the XMC-1 are you referring to? I was part of the initial XMC-1 run, and I don't remember any birthing issues. In fact, coming from the UMC-1, it was incredibly stable and easy to use.

For all intents and purposes the RMC-1 and the XMC-2 are the same machine inside. Meaning that all of the bugs that seem to have been worked out on the RMC-1 should not show up on the XMC-2 since the firmware for both units is the same. This launch should go rather smoothly.

It clicked and popped when pausing or skipping tracks. It would freeze periodically for no apparent reason. It was pretty buggy all around.. in my room and with my gear. Guess I was just unlucky.

So, you buy this processor... but it doesn’t ship with onboard streaming capabilities for, say, AirPlay or built-in support for TIDAL?
How does that work?
