Updated firmware. My unit was running 1.8. Update went smoothly with only one misstep which I think should be noted. The unit does not like USB3.0. It would not recognize data on the USB3.0 thumbdrive. It could see that there is a device plugged in but it read no data. USB 2.0 worked prefect. As others have stated, updates are very nice. Everything is faster. Now it's time to tweek the subs. Fun, Fun

Yep. I figured that out the hard way but my question remains, Why is the HDMI1 not outputting? Maybe it just doesn't display the menu. I bet that's it. It would have had a picture from the HDMI1 if I had not been in the middle of troubleshooting the failure of the menu to display and probably had the source HDMI disconnected. The only differences between HDMI-1 & HDMI-2 outputs are that HDMI-2 has CEC and ARC. All else is the same. The Menu works on both outputs. If you have two displays attached at the same time there are some lowest common denominator aspects, for example, when they have different resolutions then both outputs will be at the lower resolution, but the menu will work on both. If you have one display connected, and the display is showing static then I would be suspect of a bad/poor connection between the XMC-2 and the display. If the display is "blank", meaning it's just all black, then I would suspect a bad/poor connection from a source to the XMC-2. This photo is showing the Menu being displayed on a tv panel and a projector. (Had to move the PJ image up and over for the photo)

Thanks for the response geebo Seems that I’ve posted in the wrong thread. I haven’t had this problem for so long, it’s been a year or two since I recall this happening. I haven’t messed with the tv settings since calibration by a professional. Since 1.10 was installed my tv shuts off every 15 to 30 minutes.

The LG OLED C8 also has that setting and more under: Settings --> General --> Timers, but my C8 only turns "On" or "Off" when I select the particular "Activity" on my Harmony Elite.

Since 1.10 was installed my tv shuts off every 15 to 30 minutes. Sounds like a CEC setting "somewhere" has been enabled. I'd start with a quick look at the checkboxes in Setup on the RMC. The last time I had this issue was when the ATV4K did an update, turned on their flavor of CEC, and started shutting off my projector. I didn't discover this until I unplugged every source, then connected one at a time - as the only source connected - and waited out the 15-30 minutes for the shutoff. Turned out to be the third source, so yeah, it took a while because I waited 45 minutes to make sure I didn't "miss it".

I have to go slip into a time continuum and see what I can find out. 🤔 Thanks again

I have recently found that CEC was on and have shut it off since. Good luck fixing your issue.

I'm using an RMC as well. My issue is rare, and typically only happens when turning everything on. So, it isn't really a big issue.

No other options, I think this will/has fixed my problem. Can’t hurt to check your settings for it. Cheers

I used my XMC-2 with v1.10 for most of the weekend. This firmware looks to be almost flawless in my system. My only (and I mean only) minor issue is HDR10+ not passing through, I'm guesing when new Panasonic HDMI firmware is released this will be addressed.
Now, if only Samsung would enable Dolby Vision in their next Q90R update.
Thanks Emotiva.

Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, now 20th Century Studios, it looks like Samsung is the only remaining founder supporting HDR10+. With Panasonic supporting both DV and HDR10+(for now), it doesn't look good for the open source HDR10+. At some point I think Samsung will have to swallow their pride and jump on board the DV train, until then, enabling DV on any of their TV looks to be a pipe dream for the foreseeable future and that's too bad since I believe their MicroLED technology will be the next latest greatest. www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1587366105I apologize for the off-topic, now back to the XMC-2.

I have a question to anyone here that went from XMC-1 to XMC-2. Did anyone try to save your XMC-1 settings to a thumbdrive and load them on to your XMC-2 ? And more importantly, did it work? I've spent a fair amount of time tweaking my settings and would like to not have to do it again. Thanks, Tom

Thanks, Tom I just compared some saved settings from XMC-1 & XMC-2 and the code wording hasn't changed for all the lines I bothered to compare. I don't think there'd be an issue with restoring the old settings. It would be just like all the lines of code that are for the RMC-1's that the XMC-2 ignores. If it's there, it'll do it. If something is not correct, it won't.

No such issue for me ever. But I do not use CEC/ARC. It's turned off on everything I can turn it off on. I too have never used CEC/ARC both for the first time it was offered long long ago. It would appear that there are no other instances of this happening. I have to go slip into a time continuum and see what I can find out. 🤔 Thanks again I suspect its a CEC issue. Something is sending out the power toggle command. CEC is a one wire control system which now we enable all the sources and the sync to talk on. Basically there is one wire run between all the devices. When a device wants to say something it raises its hand. Everyone listens. If it says a command that any other devices is programmed to recognize, those devices will act upon it. The menu within the processor only relates to the processor itself. So turning off CEC on the processor just means the processor will ignore all traffic on the line, but the other devices will still talk and act. I suspect you have a source that is sitting idle and sending a shutdown command. Try going into each source and turn off CEC. Lonnie
