Nobody else has had their tv shutting off after installing 1.10 ? It’s really getting on my nerves! Turn off CEC. Lonnie Is the default for it to be on after a reset? I didn’t halve this untill I reset my RMC-1? I couldn’t imagine that it would be so it never occurred to me. After turning CEC off I haven’t had it happen since but I did have limited use because life happens. LOL Thank you sir!

Has anyone has issues loading PEQ filters, or having them disappear or stop working? I had abandoned using filters with 1.7,8,9 because of various inconsistencies. So now with 1.10 I created filters in REW yesterday for 7 channels and loaded them into the XMC-2. They seemed to work okay based on subsequent measurements, but I did notice one issue on the right rear channel and found that Filter 11 was default setting, not the configured ones. It was correct in the XML file but the parameters did not load to the XMC-2. Other filters for that channel were fine. So I manually entered the parameters and it worked okay.
This morning I started a comprehensive check of all filters loaded vs the XML files (7x11=77 yikes!), but I only got as far as the center channel ... all center channel filters were reset to default. Left and right channels were fine. I spent an hour trying to reload, reset, export, etc. in many combinations and could not get filters to load. I also could not get a default export to work. It would not export any files to the USB stick. So I did a hard reboot (main power off, unplug AC and all HDMI I/O, wait 10min, power up, reconnect HDMI I/O) and then I reloaded the filters. All filters confirmed loaded correctly! Measurements in REW confirmed they work as expected.
So it seems to be okay now, but what concerns me is how will I know if it randomly loses its mind a few days from now and the filters are corrupted? And, am I somehow causing an issue by looking to see if they are there. (A guy named Heisenberg might have had something to say about this, but I'm not sure :-) )

Very similar in fact and had to use the same process as you to reset and download filters. I did make some manual changes to the filters (subs) using "notepad", but KeithL warned that the files are format critical and to use a specialised text editor. All the other filters loaded correctly, though when I opened up the height channel filters, they had all been changed to "subwooferLeft", which just happened to be the file I had amended, so whether there was incorrect formatting that through the whold PEQ a wobbly, I don't know - eventually I manually added the BEQ, though it took 3 attempts to get them stick - here's a link to KeithL's post
All OK now thank goodness, but I'm more of the mind that my issue was user error, than anything the processor did

I was pretty careful with the syntax and all that. The odd thing was when I tried to do the export to be double sure and even THAT didn't work. For now I have my subs EQ'd with a miniDSP on the Center Sub channel. Have not done the four tops yet due to the cumbersome cable switching to run REW. But last time I did them when they were new they measured pretty well on their own. Well let's hope that once running the filters stay configured properly.

Like you I was very careful with the syntax - the problem though was the formatting of the syntax. Apparently not all text editors do xml formatting correctly - notepad in Windows being one of them that doesn't - judging from my experience. Hope they stay configured for you. Mine have been fine, thank goodness.

Sooo, looks like I have fixed the issue with losing sound when I switch Channels on my TV box
The issue,
The Fetch TV box which is a Terrestrial DVB and internet TV box imputed into the XMC-2 via HDMI. Occasionally, more that a couple of times a night, loses sound when you switch channels. Only just noticed it seems to be in or out of HD channels with 5.1 DD.
The way to get sound back is either power cycle the XMC-2, cycle input, cycle mode or cycle preset.
But now I have found the cause and a permanent solution.
In set up > input > HDMI1 I had 2.0 mode set up as Dolby surround and 5.1 mode set up as Surround.
I have simply set both 2.0 and 5.1 to auto.
Problem solved and gone away
Not just that, the problem is repeatable if you changing the settings back..
So between finding this and v1.10 the XMC-2 has gone from in several days, a bucket of poo to something that should be sitting in my hifi cabinet for a long time to come.
Now... Bring on Dirac 🙂

1.10 has been excellent but I do have a couple of issues with getting a blank screen on startup. Also some audio muting issues on LG TV’s YouTube app.
So I need to sometimes change input and back. I’ll try turning off CEC all around to see if that’s the cause.

OK. Am I missing something? I upgraded my XMC-2 firmware to 1.10 with seemingly no problems. I didn't do any real listening at the time.
Today I noticed that I have NO sound coming from my center speaker when watching TV (DD 5.1).
So, I checked speaker sizes, levels, etc. and everything is fine. 5.1 Audio is set to Auto. I cycled through all options and only All Stereo has Center output.
I put in a DTS MA disc (Stargate) and I have center audio. I put in a Dobly True HD disc (Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull) and NO center audio.
All Stereo also has center output.
It appears that the XMC-2 is not putting out center info in Dolby only?
Anyone have any hints?
FYI, I'm only rockin' LCR.

Otherwise, Save your settings, do a Factory Reset, power down completely for at least a minute, then check the Center for operation. If the Center works, then Restore your saved settings and see if it holds.

Some broadcasters will also switch between 5.1 and 2.0 for commercial content. It would make sense that “All Stereo” would produce sound as the center channel would be a summation of the left and right channels. Try some different content on different broadcast channels and see what you get...

Anyone else liking the 4 trigger outputs on the XMC2? I have 3 amps and a sub hooked up to the 4 triggers. And depending on whether I’m listening to 2 channel music or non-Atmos surround sound or Atmos surround sound, the appropriate amps and sub turns on. The instructions are in the manual. I can save a little energy now .

OK. A Factory Reset made everything better. I never had to do that with my XMC-1. Thanks for the help! A hard reset is a vital tool with these processors it seems! I only got mine two days ago and have had to resort to it about a dozen times. Admittedly I am fiddling around and trying to optimise several configurations and when once they are set up they seem to be OK! Yesterday I lost Side Left sound for an inexplicable reason. A Hard Reset was needed. I have not had to resort to Save Settings / Factory Reset / Restore Settings however. Access to the rear panel rocker switch / power cable is an essential requirement to get things to work.

I am using all 4 triggers but only for main power on, and also to automatically change my rear surrounds (Monitor Audio GSFX) from Monopole mode to Dipole mode (Which I prefer for diffused sound in movies) However ,I don't like to regularly power cycle any amplifiers or subwoofer, just because the audio format drops down to 2 channel for a few minutes. It is not meant to be good for the relays, so I am content with the increased electricity usage until I am done for the day.

Depending on what the source is being used for, you could change the input selection for 2.0 to a multi channel format so as not to trigger the amps. Such as a cable box that has ads in 2.0 but multichannel shows.

Access to the rear panel rocker switch / power cable is an essential requirement to get things to work. Disconnecting power is not something I've needed for a long time. I just hold the Standby Button on the remote for 6 seconds to completely power off the unit. There's still power connected to the unit, the color ring is Amber, it is the same as Lowest Power.

Hopefully this will keep my amps from turning on and off .

With different specific circumstances, I asked a similar question a while back and got no answer. Interesting that you're seeing some issues. I'm on 1.9, and my system is 7.1.4. Here is what I observe: - 2-channel source will always upmix to all channels with both DDSurround and DTSNeural:X. This includes HDMI or USB DAC playing from the PC, as well as 2-channel CD/SACD. Also 2-channel music or video from AppleTV 4K. - 5.1 video sources on AppleTV 4K will upmix to DDSurround. They do not upmix to DTS due to the rules that Dolby/DTS impose on upmixing multichannel only from their sources. - Multichannel music from SACD (OPPO 205) will upmix to DDSurround or DTS. Note that I have the OPPO convert DSD to PCM. - Multichannel music from network drive sent to OPPO 205 over network (JRiver Media Center Send To>Play (OPPO205) will NOT upmix to DDSurround or DTS. - Multichannel (5.0/5.1 PCM) music over HDMI from the PC only plays 5.0 or 5.1. It does NOT upmix to the rears or heights with either DDSurround or DTS. So it sounds like from what you've described and what I've experienced that there is an issue with upmixing sources coming from a PC? I don't think the issue is related to the PC as the Yamaha I had upmixed fine from PC. I have also noticed when playing from nintendo switch that the DSU will upmix into front/rear top but not into middle top. I suspect this is a limitation of DSU same as it won't upmix to front wides. I will say that when upmixing occurs from any source the overheads/surrounds are all extremely quiet compared to the LCR yet on atmos tracks everything is balanced correctly.
