A friend gave me a Denon DCD-610 CD player that I use in my shop area. It needs a new drive belt.
Does anyone have an online source for CD player belts?

I think I have the same one. It sounds fantastic! It's a multibit CD player PCM 61 or 63 I think. And yes I think mine needs a new drive belt too. It has trouble opening and closing.

I'm going to have to look at the mechanism again. I thought the rubber belt was to drive the disc as it spins when I hit play and no trouble with the door opening or closing. Mine skips like a record or can sound like it has slowed down. Perhaps there is a 'can' motor under the attaching clamp that I didn't see.
I found a belt on eBay but the reputation score was lower than what I like to see.

I ordered a belt kit "65pcs Mix Cassette Tape Rubber Square Belt Replacement Cd Player Dvd Xbox Repair" from eBay, none fit the ejection tray motor.for Samsung DVD rom.(pc) or BD-JM-63 bluray player, all were too large. I also felt the quality was cheap. I've seen individual belts by the Manf, but were $4-7ea for a .50 part. When I need a rom now, it must have gear drive tray eject.
DavidR- my guess for skipping would be a dirty laser lens or the cone shaped drive (that drives the disc) has a 1/4" wide rubber ring that could be dirty.
fyi- I just bought LG usb DVD rom at Best Buy- $20. It works for reading data to my HTPC's, wouldn't expect it to be a good burner.

The first thing I did was clean the lens when I got it home (several years ago) as it was skipping. If I remember correctly it helped some. I will take another look for that 0-ring and drive motor. Thanks for the tips/info.

OK, so I pulled the cover again and got a flashlight this time. The motor that drives the belt is indeed the drawer mechanism and it does stop after a bit. There is another motor about half the size of the drawer motor. Its in the base of the unit. It might drive the spindle that clamps to the bottom of the CD disc. If that is the drive motor it is not direct drive.
What I did find is a hair or two wrapped around the spindle shaft. I was able to remove all of it with tweezers and then I swabbed the spindle with a q-tip dampened with a small amount of rubbing alcohol and finally a shot of compressed air to the top assembly that spins with the CD.
All seems good.
Thanks ALL for the responses.
