The other thread is locked.
It is the upgraded HDMI board with the 5.8 version.
It is in standy by mode.
I have switched the oppo cable with the rocket fish cable but same issues with both roku and oppo. Switched the HDMI output on XMC-1 from #1 (ARC) to #2 HDMI output. Same result.
I’ve been getting this gear together for a little over 6 months. The OPPO was the first component I purchased and it, as well as the other pieces, sat in boxes until I had everything. The XLR cables were the last items I purchased. Didn’t have time for about 3 weeks before I was able to set it up. Running cables, hooking everything up, measuring for symmetry, setting up XMC-1 with SPL meter,... and all the other moving over setting up, it took a good 6-8 hours. Yes I am frustrated.

If I turn the tv off, the audio from the roku starts playing.
When I turn the tv back on then the video comes on the screen.
When I switch channels the Xmas-1 loses the signal and the screen goes black and there is no audio. For a second or two the screen saver comes on then it goes black again and stays that way. If the screen saver doesn’t come on that must mean the XMC-1 is sending some kind of signal from the roku to the tv or the tv would enable the screen saver.

Let’s start simple. Do you hear music if you play a CD?

Return all of it and get a good quality, tube based two channel stereo. And relax!

Return all of it and get a good quality, tube based two channel stereo. And relax! Hi Bill, It’s very ironic that I’m reading your post, while sipping on my freshly brewed coffee and relaxing.....just as you suggest. The “relaxation” is coming from the XMC-1, delivering the goods to my 29 driver system, in grand fashion as it has since 2014. All electronic components (including those with vacuum tubes) have a percentage rate of failure or problems. Unfortunate when it happens, but jumping ship is quite another story. Another Bill

Have you tried calling Emotiva to get a replacement, seems like it's not just a cable issue or at least find out what they have to say.

Do you have CEC or ARC active in any of your devices?
If you've swapped cables (which you have), that's the next thing to check.

1... If I turn the tv off, the audio from the roku starts playing ... 2... When I turn the tv back on then the video comes on the screen ... 3... Switched the HDMI output on XMC-1 from #1 (ARC) to #2 HDMI output ... 4... It is in standy by mode. Do you have CEC or ARC active in any of your devices? If you've swapped cables (which you have), that's the next thing to check. Agreed, the 1st statement above leads you to believe it may be on, make sure ARC/CEC is off everywhere. 2 is somewhat normal, if the XMC-1v3 is on it will typically pass the last used HDMI input. 3 isn’t quite right, with the v3 board HDMI output 2 is the primary (and ARC) output, that’s normally what you should use first (even though you don’t want ARC). 4 is ambiguous, there is “Low Power Standby” (slow boot) and “Video on Standby” (fast boot), you should use “Low Power Standby”

What I don't understand is why the OP doesn't contact Emo about all these problems.
You can post and complain until you're blue in the face and people can give you all sorts of "helpful" advice but shouldn't the logical approach be to contact the manufacturer and ask them for help?

Seems like the OP doesn't want to call and maybe get the problem fixed. He started this thread after his similar one was locked. Appears he just wants others to know that he has an XMC-1 that he is not happy with.

Perhaps you should try to save your settings, reset to defaults, shut it down and turn the switch in the back off for a minute before restarting. If things get better then try reloading the settings saved earlier.

I received my XMC-1 about 4 weeks ago and was having a problem with the HDMI and my OPPO 203. Was losing the picture but sound was fine. This would happen on and off at random. I read here about the Monoprice cables and decided to try them out. www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07GGP1396/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I purchased these and when I took them out of the pack I wasn't impressed with how cheap they felt( tbh at 26 bucks CAD for 3 they are cheap lol ). I have an AQ Forest 4k cable from the oppo to the XMC so I just changed the cable from the XMC to the tv. Bing!! works just fine. I even tried to make it choke by spamming the input buttons but when I returned to HDMI 1 ( what the oppo was hooked to ) each and every time it worked perfect. Suggest trying them. PS: also note I do not have a 4k tv just 1080p, don't ask me why this worked I have no idea.

Low cost cables that made the system work as it should. Go figure. ARC even works well!

Oh yes. A nice result. And Occams razor shaves me at least once a day. I have a very complex beard of life.
