XMC-1 not working for me too well

My last post in this thread has not been accurate.
Every now and again when I switch sources the audio from the new input plays but there is no video and my TV goes to screen saver. I have to turn everything off and back on again. Same as before.
My xmc1 is always in standby mode. The xmc1 is connected to the tv by the HDMI ARC input. It is set to play the tuner when turned on.
This is what I just experienced;
I turned on my Xbox and tv and audio from the tuner of the xmc1 is playing through the tv speakers. I never touched the Emotiva remote and the amber light is on.
I just pushed the power button on the XMC1 and it went through it’s quick turn on routine although it was on? The button switches from amber to blue, the words” RETHINK HIGH END” comes up on display and audio from the tuner begins to play through speakers connected to xmc1.
I just turned the XMC1 off. Button light turns amber, audio from input stops playing through the speakers but is still playing through my TV speakers, which is on and I am viewing my xbox via the pass through feature of the XMC1.
I turned the Xbox off and the tuner from the xmc1 is still playing through the tv.
When I turn the tv off the audio stops. The power button on the xmc1 is amber. Turn tv on and the audio is back.
I switched the input to the tv from the xmc1 to an aerial antenna and the audio from xmc1 stopped. Switched back to xmc1 and the tuner plays through the tv speakers again. The power button is amber.
Just turned the xmc1 on and off again and there is no audio coming through the tv from the xmc1.
Now everything is working as it should.
Rethinking high end.

I may have missed it, but have you updated to the latest FW? 5.8 has some known bugs...

I had something similar happen this past week on my RMC-1 as well. The audio came out of my tv as well and not the speakers. Very odd, but I've only had it happen once.

It seems this problem has not gone away. My xmc1 is in stand by mode , the amber light is illuminating the power button, and the tuner from the xmc1 is playing through my tv speakers. I can even change the radio station and the display shows the new radio station I’ve selected.

When this phenomenon is going on I can only hear audio from the xmc1 ‘s tuner. I can not hear any audio from the video source. I can view the video from source but the audio is still coming from the tuner.

For an item that cost 3k new, these problems should not be happening.

When I now see the slogan “ RETHINK HIGH END” on my processor I envision the Emotiva employees looking blankly at a pile of returned pres/pros, all scratching their heads.

I will never consider buying another Emotiva product.

I never had these issues with my XMC-1 (with V3 board) and the XMC-2 has been good.

If you haven't done so, please call Emotiva for guidance and help. It's quite possible that the unit has an issue that simply resetting or rebooting will not fix. Remember, these things are essentially computers.

Send it in.....get it fixed....no big deal.
