Servo controlled woofers have the exact same dynamic effects, it's just that the servo's bias voltage control can compensate for some of them making using a low Le woofer less important. There are many different subwoofer theories. I used to work for a company who designed systems that operated below fs only, meaning you want to use a driver with an fs around 80Hz, which is unheard of in the conventional subwoofer world.
