I know the XMC-1 down sample everything to 48khz when Dirac is used but how about the XMC-2, RMC-1 etc?

We'll be able to let you know when DIRAC is release on the platform. Maybe within 45 days.

If my memory is good, when Emo advertised their new processors XMC-2 RMC-1 and 1L, they talk about the 96k version of Dirac.

Yes ; its conjecture at this point in time as Keith says; emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/1018864/threadNote theswede ; Dirac 2.0 is also running at 48khz on all the new 16ch pre pro's like the HTP1;Arcam av40 and likely its derivatives from Audio control; JBL Synthesis ..

I rip a fair amount of dvd-audios, Blu-ray audio, and vinyl discs. I now use 48Khz. I could not hear a difference between 48Khx and higher sampling rates, but I can hear a difference between 16 and 24 bit files. Now I do not have an XMC to use for the comparison, so of course, YMMV.
