Im wondering if anyone can point me to a thread or help me get this thing to turn on.
it started up fine and i went into the menu to set it up. it stopped responding and when i rebooted i get nothing but an orange power light that wont start up the unit.
I removed power and let it sit for 5 minutes, plugged it in, turned on the back power switch and the front standby button flashes blue 5 times then turns amber. When i push the amber power button it doesnt start up or show anything in the 2 display windows.
i did check all 3 internal fuses and they are fine.
i turned off the back power switch many times and also unplugged it.
Any help before they open monday morning would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Michael

Did you try turning it on with the remote. When I got my refurb XMC-1 the front button worked fine the first time I turned it on,after that it never has, but it works fine off the remote which is all I use anyhow so I don't really care.

Welcome tomthe wonderful quirky world of Emotiva processors. They sound great when they work but they have issues.

It's heartbreaking when your brand new toy arrives "broke". Since you've already opened the top to check the fuses, why don't you ground yourself and reseat all the connectors that you can comfortably get to. Several people on the forum have mentioned that that has helped their units in past occasions like this.

thank you for that excellent suggestion, thats a very good idea.
Im a little leary about messing around inside the unit though, i dont want it to be an issue when i send this one back and have them send me a new one.

If you don’t want to re-seat any of the connectors, just look to see if anything looks obviously not totally seated. Otherwise it sounds like you may need to wait and talk with Emotiva support on Monday.

Cheers Gary

Yes,. I didn’t have anything connected when I was setting it up. It froze and now it won’t reboot.

i got my new RMC-1l yesterday and it installed with no issues at all. the delays are slightly longer than the ones i had with my XMC-1 but are no where near as long as i was expecting based on the 335 page owners thread i read. i have 3 SVS subs and i need to figure out the best way to configure them. right now i have 2 in dual mono and the center sub is set to LFE. does any one have any suggestions? it shipped with FW 1.7

If center is set to LFE then your LR subs are not getting LFE data. I had mine set up incorrectly and once I changed the settings my subs opened up.

Thank you. ILL try that when i get home tonight. So dual mono for #1 and #3 and mono for #2? No LFE for any of them? Yes, that’s my understanding. My understanding is the the center sub is the only one that can be designated LFE while the additional subs can handle everything below the crossover points. I could be mistaken. What I think I remember reading, and what I see in the menus don't always align or maybe I have to have additional subs allocated to see the additional options. I have two subs currently, but only running one sub out because both subs are in the same location side by side hanging off of an EP 4000. Once Dirac hits, I plan to move one of them to an appropriate place. Still considering building and infinite baffle manifold in my ceiling for my 4 18s I'm currently not using dedicating those to LFE.

Will the dual mono subs play if the center is set at LFE? I listen to 2 channel stereo 50% of the time and home theater movies the rest of the time I want to be able to switch between using the subs or not using the subs when i listen to 2 channel music. I currently have speaker preset 1 with my left and right front set to large and listen with reference and and speaker preset 2 has my front and left set to small with the crossover set to 60htz. Both speaker presets have all 3 subs connected to the sub outs. I know when set to reference the subs don't come into play.
Does anyone have any other suggestions on a better way to manage the subs for 2 channel stereo music and home theater movies?

Does anyone have any other suggestions on a better way to manage the subs for 2 channel stereo music and home theater movies? I have 3 subs in my setup. I am currently using my subs' trigger input to turn subs on/off depending on preference &/or source. If your subs have an "auto on" function you could use that. When using "auto on" in your setup, "preset 1" wouldn't turn the subs on. For "preset 2" any mode in which the RMC-1 performs bass management they would turn on. If you want the third sub off when listening to music you could try using a trigger output to control your center/lfe sub (instead of "auto on"). You could have a trigger turn on with just your theater/movie inputs by de-selecting your music source(s) from the trigger option you use. Personally, I have found that running all three subs with music sounds really good - it's all mono anyway (adjust trims to your preference). Lots of options... not really any bad ones . Unfortunately, the logic tree for triggers doesn't include sound processing modes - a rather critical omission in my opinion.
