that there is a bass drum pounding out 16th notes on the Chicago song 25 or 6 to Four?
Me neither. Till I got my T2+ speakers.
That was the first record I bought, back in 1972, and I have listened to it since then. And I only heard that bass drum part last night.
The tweeters are awesome, but those twin 8 inch woofers do a job as well.

Been a LONG time since I have given that track any kind of a serious listen. Bill

You should stream Simon Phillips drum solos if you want to hear some nasty double bass stuff.

I met Simon Phillips a few years ago at the NAMM show. Super nice guy, personalized and signed a pic for me. He's a phenomenal drummer. His double bass drumming is good but he's exceptionally talented with independence between his right and left hands. Basically he can play anything equally good and uses a ride cymbal to his left. Unusual for a right-handed drummer. Hands down the nicest drummer I met was Kenny Aronoff. He's played with nearly everyone but got his big break playing for Mellencamp for many years. A couple of other very talented drummers to listen to are Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree) and Thomas Lang.

I still use three of those Touches, and they work and sound great.

Trey I need to correct myself......and there is an old expression (even before my time) โAh yes I remember it wellโ so I thought. The track you brought up (I could hear those 16ths through my iPhone 6 SE by listening carefully) is not on the album I thought I remembered it was! I bought Chicago Transit Authority first which came out in 1969. That was my favorite. Bill

I love Chicago. Their Brass section is my favorite part of their band. Epic sound overall.

I have ALWAYS loved 25 or 6 to 4 since early childhood. vcautokid is on point w/ Chicago's brass section.
John Bonham was an easy favorite in my teens as was Neil Pert. Exceptional tympanists.
I sat down and prompted the BlueSound into action.... TOOL's drummer Danny Cary ensued. The craft lives...
I am uncertain if he delves into the 16th notes.
But the virtuosity is unmistakable. A warm thank you to the Blue Kool Aide for enhancing my addiction!!
Enjoying the MUSIC. Thanx BIG DAN!
