Hi, I bought a used XMC-1 last year and paired it with XPA-7. I've just noticed that when I play my music, the volume can't get louder than -10 db. I went to Menu>Settings>Preferences>Volume Level and it's already set at 11 db. Played around with it for a while. I was able to decrease the volume to lower than -10 db, but it didn't work for louder than -10 db.
Any idea what the problem is?
Thanks

Then change the Preset to a different one and check again. There could be several areas to check to see where a Speaker Level setting has been set to a very high number. When a Speaker Level is set to +12 within a Preset, the the maximum volume attainable has now been lowered by that 12dB, so -1.0dB is now the max volume. You can do a Factory Reset to make all settings the factory default. You can save the settings prior to doing a Factory Reset if you wish to Restore afterwards.

Probably recommended that you download the latest Software release and update your machine as well.

Every HDMI and analog input has its own configurable output level setting. Just go into the settings and kick up the db output on the input for musc your hooked up to and raise it to match. Bill

This has been discussed before so you could find more information with a search. Your Dirac configuration and/or settings have caused the XMC-1 to run out of head room. A common cause for this with Dirac is a bad measurement.
