When I saw the the announcement of the "unprecedented" 30% back emobucks offer on purchases "for a limited time", I decided to move up a purchase; I would otherwise have waited one more week to spread out the credit card bills
So, ordered a pair of the E2+'s, and received the email regarding my emobucks, but... at the bottom it says "Expires on Jun 18, 2020". So, these emobucks are only good for a month!
I can understand the promotion's reasoning but what disappoints me is that there was no indication that these emobucks were going to expire so quickly, a priori to the order. Just a caveat in case you were thinking of holding on to the "bucks" for a while.

Oink, I need my afternoon coffee. Did I convert March to May in my head? Mea culpa. But still would have liked to know the emobucks were limited time usable!
Years back at the Emotiva on-the-road show in Santa Clara CA I won a $100 emobucks card. I cashed it in several weeks back as part of another purchase. That's why I was disappointed to see the limitation this time.

It is nice of them to offer it but it really isn't a use-case that fits many people. No doubt they're trying to give a sale without breaking their "no more sales" promise.

I think they’re trying to have a limited time promotion to take advantage of the fact that many of us are at home and have more time with our systems.

I think if this stuff hangs around long enough, lots of folks are going to start trying to sell their spare audio gear via the Emporium, CraigsList, and/or eBay...

I even feel a little guilty that I’ve started looking at used guitars, as I feel musicians (who already have difficulty making ends meet) will start selling their gear.

Having liquidity when most others don't opens up lots of options... I think that if this stuff lasts more than two more weeks (and I'm betting it will) that many folks will feel the squeeze, and start looking to liquidate stuff.
Things I wouldn't mind finding:
A new rug for the living room (the existing one is starting to look somewhat threadbare) A "big and tall" sized sofa & love seat (my current one is a bit too low for my height) Additional room treatment (absorbers, primarily), although I'd also consider acoustic ceiling tiles Speakers - I'd like to experiment with planars and maybe even some Golden-Ear or Def-Tech Bipolar models Amplifiers - Maybe a nice tube amp Tube buffer - If I can't get the tube amp An adjustable bed frame that has power tilt A newer business laptop A wide format color laser or multifunction printer/scanner/copier CD collections A stainless .22 pistol A semi-auto 20 ga. shotgun (the 12s irritate the arthritis in my shoulder too much anymore) An elegant .22 bolt action rifle A bigger and newer iPad (I've got fat fingers)
I also need to get rid of a bunch of stuff, but I just know that now isn't the time...

You really don't think that this will suit most people....?
Being able to upgrade to a processor with more channels and get the amp to power those channels at a significant discount... or even free.
We figure that will be an excellent option for a lot of people who've been waiting for a great deal. I guess we'll see.

Things I wouldn't mind finding: An elegant .22 bolt action rifle Boom; Look up a CZ Lux training rifle. I bought one of these new about 10 years ago. Full forged receiver. Excellent adjustable ramp open sights. Love mine.

Hi @ex_vintage - You're right the CZ is nice but I saw a Remington 547 at an estate sale and I'm still kicking myself for not buying it!

You really don't think that this will suit most people....? Some sure, definitely not "most". It would suit a lot more if there weren't an expiration on the bucks. All just imo, of course.

I think the expiration is to encourage the customer to buy sooner than later. Sooner was good for me, just bought 3 PA-1's and used the EmoBucks 3 minutes later on another PA-1 for a total of 4 PA-1's that will power my height channels.

I think the expiration is to encourage the customer to buy sooner than later. Definitely. In addition, the sooner the expiration the more will go unused which helps them. It's the same premise as rebates instead of just giving you the discount at purchase. Don't get me wrong - it's better than no deal, I would just prefer they stop the games and go back to having sales. For those that can make this work for them, it's a pretty sweet deal.

The only way I shell out money right now is if a pair of xpr-1’s went on sale like the xpa-1 gen 2s have in the past.

FYI
I was planning to double dip and use my 40% off an XMC-2 but Emotiva sales said you only can use one or the other. However, I’ve not ask if I can use emo bucks to purchase an XMC-2 with the 40% card. I know in the pass people had a hard time using their emo bucks combing with other promotions. Hopefully they get desperate enough and let me do it 😝. Guess I’ll just wait, don’t need a new processor yet.

Yes, I'd like to know too. I now have a bit in emobucks, but if I were to buy an XMC-2 in order to get ATMOS, dirac, etc., I can also get a 30% off "for life" discount (if that's what it's called), as I've bought UMC-1, 200, and 700 processors so far, and that UMC-1 was before they cut off that promotion for life. On the other foot, if I do get an XMC-2, I can use the emobucks to instead pay off some of the cost of the Airmotiv A1 ATMOS speakers, so I guess I'm good either way - but those emobucks have to be spent by June. With the looming Coronavirus issues, Emo's county could end up shutting them down for shelter-in-place. Oops Don't want to buy an XMC-2 until DIRAC is fully operational, so... tick tick tick...
