I've been thinking about building open baffle dipole subs for many years. By all accounts they play really, really well with Magnepans. I'm neither equipped nor inclined to woodworking, but my niece's husband is a carpenter and I saw him a couple months ago and he said he could build the cabinets for me. I don't have a price yet, but definitely cheaper and easier than shipping flat packs from GR Research from TX to PA and assembling myself. So I ordered the parts for two three-high subs with plate amps. I hope my FedEx guy does his squats over the next week or so! View AttachmentSo you didn't order from GR Research, who did you order from? Are those 15/18/21 drivers?

With extra shipping two cabinet flat packs would cost around $1300. I'm sure Harry can build them for me for less than that. They are the SW-12-16FR 12" 16ohm servo drivers and the A370PEQ Rythmik servo amp. gr-research.com/product/servo-sub-kit-5-4/

Roon Nucleus One - this potentially does away with a LOT of my problems. Now, I won't need to use the Ethernet cable that runs the length of my house. I also won't have to run the (highly troublesome) Apple TV as a destination. I will be able to set up a WiFi network in the living room (from the Nucleus One) separate from the computer room WiFi and so get better signal strength to/from my iPad running Roon Remote in the living room. And finally (and perhaps most importantly), I'll be free of the byzantine Apple ID / passwords / device management circus. I've got 2.5" SSD drives laying around that can hold the Roon Rootkit Nucleus base station, and until the price of high capacity SSD drives drop, I can use an external HDD for my Roon library.

Speaker vs. speaker & amp vs. amp comparisons. One can switch via remote control & equalize power in a measurable & repeatable way. If I want to equalize a speaker comparison via output volume, I have an iPhone AND a Umik-1 calibrated microphone to work "backwards" from the speakers to the amps. Maybe I'm not quite through reviewing audio equipment yet... Have you tried the Fosi yet? What are your impressions? Are you happy with the meters?

The meters just arrived this evening - I’ve yet to hook them up. And until I can get streaming working again, there’ll be nothing to test the meters with…

Can't wait for this trailer to arrive as it should make our lives much easier... Getting a pair of eleven foot, 60lbs yaks on the roof and secure is a major pain in the neck... Then we have this thirteen foot 80lbs bad boy to deal with... can't wait for the trailer...

Magnuson supercharger for my 2022 Dodge Durango R/T. Love this SUV and this upgrade will make it perform better than my previous SRT 392 Durango. Peak horsepower increase from 360 to 524 (SRT is 475). Peak torque increase from 390 to 529 (SRT is 425). Looking for more towing power when trailering my classic cars to shows. And to having more fun! Looking forward to its transition!

My new computer monitor. They're clearancing out the LG C3 models to make room for the '24 models and got this one for $750 (before tax). Had to drive to 3 different stores before I got lucky and found one.

Just pre-ordered this Steelbook... I’ve got the “Oceans” trilogy, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, and Obi-Wan Kenobi pre-ordered and should be here this Tuesday. Dune: part 2 is due in the middle of May. All of these to be added to a stack of 4K UHD-blurays I’m slowly catching up on.

A retirement hobby is collecting wild shirts. This is my latest (straight out of the package, so needs ironing...). Loving this one! Mark

A retirement hobby is collecting wild shirts. This is my latest (straight out of the package, so needs ironing...). Loving this one! Mark I thought the wrinkles were part of the design! A teacher in my high school painting class used an airbrush to create wrinkles on canvas. No amount of ironing would ever make them go away.
