I finally purchased a sonic cleaner for my LP’s. It’s not the most expensive unit on the market but it cleans as advertises.

For the TEAC A-7300. Odd reason too. A shame too, but making the best of it I can.

12TB for $229 from Amazon... you can never have enough disk space. Back on sale for Prime Day, so I picked up another one.

I've been (happily) listening to my Salk SongTowers for about 8 years and finally decided it was a time for a change. I've got a pair of Philharmonic Audio BMR Towers in Rosewood on the way. Should be here in about 10 days or so, coming from the DC area. These are true full range towers, playing flat to 25hz, and 'useful' bass to 20hz. My DIY 12" sealed sub does not dip that low, it's all-in at 25hz. The SongTowers are good to ~30hz by my measurements, and flat to 38hz according to Salk, and I swear they often play much lower than 30hz. I've played around with Audacity and found the STs do play lower than their spec of 38hz, upper 20's but not with a lot of oomph. The ST's are up for sale, locally for now. Not sure they'd be worth the shipping costs to send them out to someone a few states away. This was a major outlay for me, being retired, but I think these will be my last pair of speakers... maybe! If you don't know about Philharmonic Audio you should check them out. The BMR towers were a collaboration between Paul Kittinger, a well-known advocate of transmission line speakers, and Dennis Murphy, a real whiz when it comes to crossover designs. This is the same duo who masterminded the Salk SongTowers, which are still in production. I think the design was first conjured up in 2006-7, not quite sure about that, but any speaker that can claim a 5 year lifespan is rare, and the ST's are about 15yo and still going strong. I think the BMR Tower will have a similar run judging by the rave reviews online. philharmonicaudio.com/There is a long thread on AVS about Philharmonic Audio. They also have a BMR Monitor, a large three way bookshelf that is also well received by owners and reviewers alike. Murphy does not advertise his speakers, letting word of mouth do it for him. I've yet to read a bad review of either of his speakers.

Thanks for bringing these speakers to our (my) attention. Need to look into them further. Wish they came with a full height grill; the two small grills IMO make a beautiful speaker look strange. 😳

Some say that grilles tend to block the high notes, affecting female voices. I've tried it both ways and hear no real difference.

Fill out that TEAC A-7300 with 10.5 inch NAB reel tape and take up reel. Maxell UD35-180 for the tape and a new take up reel.

Nice, been looking at the Reference myself, I’ll be interested in what you think. If you’re so inclined I’d also be interested in the amps idle draw.
