Are those MOV's mounted at the side of four of the relays? I also wonder what those are. Yeah. Saw those in the photo. See what they say.

Two pair of Magnepan MC1s acquired from the Capital Audio Fest Atmos system. They'll hang as Atmos front and rear tops. Probably pretty well broke in from CAF too. I'm considering bringing another pair of MC1s down from the bedroom to use as center tops. We never listen to the bedroom system so I can put the MMGWs that were my front tops in the bedroom and not listen to those instead of not listening to the MC1s.. I have the speakers ... why not 6 tops!?

I give them points because the LED lighting on the tubes is blue.... (It really should be orange... but at least it isn't green.) As for the meter... I agree that blue would be better... but I see a bigger issue there... There should be TWO meters... TWO ears... TWO channels... TWO meters... At the Black Friday price, I just couldn't resist (LOL): This thread is goin' down the tubes! The meter isn't even BLUE!

ttocs geebo Sound Town STPS-A28
Sound Town responded. I'll take this deal. But honestly when I looked close at the picture (didn’t open the case back up to confirm) I think those are MOVs next to the relays on outputs 5, 6, 7,8 … but not on 1, 2, 3, 4 or 9, 10. Kind of useless design if this is the case because a surge would take out the power supply, controller and display boards and only be stopped for the four outputs. If they did it right they would put a protection board at the AC input, right?
Hey Marc,
Thanks for reaching out to Sound Town, can I please have your order number?
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the advertised surge protection feature of the STPS-A28. Upon reviewing your observations and confirming with the supplier, it appears there was a miscommunication in the product description. The unit itself does not include filter capacitors, MOVs, or ferrite beads. Instead, it is designed with microcontroller-controlled relays for power switching.
We understand how this may have caused frustration, and we are taking immediate steps to correct the product description to prevent further misunderstandings.
We can provide you with a 30% partial refund for the inconvenience if you would like to keep the product.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely, Felipe S. Sound Town Support

A kind of big purchase...a new roof. After 24 years since we built (and with solar panels to come in the spring) - it was time. Hopefully, they can install tomorrow as planned. They could not yesterday due to some snow in the area. Obviously, not much unless it's that green stuff around the pile of materials. Mark
