Does this count ? We just finished the build and moved in last month. I like it alot. Here are a couple photos a few days after we moved in and had the sod installed. Then of course I had to have my very own dude den...and yes they are Emotiva Ultra 12's, Emo XPA-5 and Panny 65" GT30 Plasma. Of course any dude den needs a giant storage closet. Oh and I am an equal opportunity photographer. Nikon D90 and Canon Xsi. ![](http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z264/jackvan2001/IMG_4450Large.jpg) ![](http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z264/jackvan2001/IMG_4451Large.jpg) ![](http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z264/jackvan2001/DSC_8094Large.jpg) ![](http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z264/jackvan2001/IMG_05792Large.jpg)

Thanks. My cave just needs to be painted, sound treated and detailed with proper stuff hanging on the walls. Maybe some new speakers ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) We shall see. I know it does not show it in the photos, but there are vertical walls on both sides of the room, 41" high, it is not a total triangle so we have placed seats on the sides and it works pretty well. Having some "Special" albums framed at Michael s as I type. Next to my man chair I have a headphone rig with a Wadia 170i/160gig Ipod, Headroom Desktop amp/dac and some Beyerdynamic, Grado and Denon cans. I love that. Oh and maybe these need to go somewhere too.

Oh and since I use a Tube Dac for Music through the main rig, I thought that putting tubes in my computer might help iTunes running through the AppleTv2. What do y'all think, will it help ?? ![](http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z264/jackvan2001/IMG_0293Large-1.jpg) ![](http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z264/jackvan2001/IMG_0299Large-1.jpg)

Nice! Can't wait to get mine... tracking says Thursday... BTW, Did you overclock yours? How was that experience? Thanks. yup, I overclocked it to 1.7GHz and it flies. I would recommend overclocking to at least 1.5GHz. Its pretty darn easy to do as well. My last purchase was the Touchstone wireless charger for the Touchpad since they hit clearance prices. ![](http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=cat13506&type=page&skuId=2884085&productId=1218363391792&viewtype=angleView&h=403)

I've been kind of flaky and didn't post a very timely review of these Swans M10 desktop speakers I recently purchased. Someone PM'd me asking about them so I figured I should post my review. ![](http://www.theaudioinsider.com/product_thumb.php?img=images/m10_main.gif&w=400&h=300) The speakers arrived safe and sound, nicely and securely packed, with the traditional cloth covers and white gloves from the Audio Insider. Looks-wise, they are just like what you see in the picture. They are attractive, although in person I would say they look more plastic than they do in the pictures but they still look much better than your average computer/desktop speakers. Placement of the sub was a bit of a problem. Jon Lane recommends putting it on the desk and not on the floor, and keeping the satellites no more than two feet away. At first I tried putting it in the middle, with my monitor on top of it but that made the monitor too high. So I put the sub on the right side of the desk but it is more than 2 feet from the left satellite. Because of the sub's location, the bass tends to get directional if its volume knob is set too high. Initially that is how I set it, and the sub does have a nice kick to it - solid and, for its size, you can feel the impact. But I turned it down because it called too much attention to itself. Now it is more integrated and less directional. My initial impression of the overall sound was that it was okay. It sounded flat and not very dynamic or spacious. I am skeptical about speaker break in, but it seemed to me that over the course of a few days the sound improved - it became more detailed and dynamic. In fact now, they have a nice depth in the soundstage. All of this is from low to moderate listening levels, more towards low because it is in my office so I can't blast it (plus I can't concentrate on work if it is too loud). I did try turning it up when I first got them but I don't think the sound card in my computer is very good - it's just one of those stock things that comes attached to the motherboard, not a separate one. So it doesn't get very loud. I have a pair of the Swans M200 Mk II's in use with my computer at home and those are lovely. Very clean, natural, balanced and detailed sound and a nice soundstage - both width and depth. The M10's fall short of the M200's performance in all areas (the M200's tend to disappear whereas with the M10's you know you are listening to speakers) but then they are a lot cheaper, too. For the $117 I paid, they do a great job - music for the most part sounds natural and they don't sound like computer speakers. Your average computer speakers emphasize midrange and get to be blaring or harsh and sound like plastic, but these are not average. I don't play them loud enough for really critical listening but for how they are being used, these are great.

Well, I got home last night to a new Whirlpool steam washer and steam dryer and a $2700 bill!!! Do you know how many subs I could have bought? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ? LOL The wife went to sears and bought the most expensive set she could find I'm sure (other than the $8000 bosch set) at least the washer is 5 CF, I can almost fit in there! You know I spoil her........with her own money LOL!!!

Oh and I am an equal opportunity photographer. Nikon D90 and Canon Xsi. Not really a diversity of cameras as they call Nikon and Canon "Canikon." I do love my Sony full frame and lenses.

Funny thing here, all of my photography life (32 Years ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) ), I used Pentax 35mm but for some reason cannot do that brand for digital. My first digital camera was a Sony Mavica, I still have it. Then Olympus or their fast f1.8 lens and finally Canon. The difference in actual images between all cameras is more lens related that anything else, except maybe the new Nikon D7000. None the less, size, feel, weight and other external factors are quite important in choosing ones shooter.
