All small ,mono sub no difference in bass. But I did redo Dirac, after 2.2 update. All seemed very good. But now I can't recheck because I sold my subs. Now I need to find me some new ones but much smaller than them water heaters I had.

Anybody else experiencing loud pop noise when navigating through any TV apps or when pausing/playing any content? I am worried that it might damage my speakers... I had some serious Pop noises, when I switched Input from HDMI to Balanced IN after listening to DSD. pls. open a ticket with your issue, so Emo understands, that a lot of people have this POP.
I went back to 2.1

I get pops on every firmware so far. 2.0, 2.1. and 2.2. Emotiva = Rice Krispies.

Agreed, 2.1 had just as many pops for me as 2.2.

Recently upgraded to 2.2 and now every time I pause video stream some minutes (from my Intel NUC with HD620 graphics) when I then start I get after about 1 sec a small light short krackle sound and after 5 seconds the (normal) sound come back (video starts immediately). I did not notice this in 2.1 and it sounds as if a computer command is leaking into the sound channel. I also notice that the multiple sub issue where I have to set my left and right sub to dual mono to get the right sub to play is still not fixed. If I set them to mono only the left sub plays and the right is silent. Center sub is set to mono and it does not matter wether I have enhanced bass selected or not. With 2.1 I had Enhanced bass on but with 2.2 I had to turn it off since otherwise the bass will be to loud (I am not sure if this is due to 2.2 or Dirac since I recalculated the filters in Dirac 3.13, measured with an older version).

If you have one sub connected the Left Sub you set it to Mono. If you have two connected to Left and Right Sub you set it to Dual Mono. It's still mono, and it really is not a bug. But ... there is still a bug that if you have Left Sub connected and not the Right, Dirac will think the Right Sub should be there and the calibration will fail. Now, for 2.2 ... there are reports of scenarios that cause bass to be too loud. But generally speaking Enhanced Bass is not a good idea.

I'm getting all manner of unwelcome pops and noises when switching sources and starting media playback since updating to 2.2. have reverted to 2.1 for now :-(

I'm also in the bunch of people having seen a bass boost after 2.2 update. I wonder if it is related to my already bass boosted Dirac curve in fonction in the XMC-2 before the update. It should be very interesting to know how many people that having a bass boost after update, having before the update a Dirac's curve boosted in bass. I'm in the same boat. The Plop or Bang Noise was so loud that my DR3 Amps went off. I had almost a heart attack. And I did not had Dirac Curve active as I do not use a Sub. It was a shocking Moment.
It happened whenn I first listened to DSD Direct 5 Channel fromthe oppo. Then wanted to switch over to Balanced IN to play with Roon. I tried it twice, same issue. Then decided to go back to 2.1.
Did anyone open a ticket? After 2.1 I thought it will be no problem - but it got worse for me - with a potential risk of speaker damage. I can stay on 2.1 but this is against Emo's recomendation.
I really start to think again in selling the rmc-1
I had the same issue with my Oppo BDP-105D playing DSD over HDMI to the XMC-1 (HDMI 2.0b board). Switching DSD tracks or switching from DSD to PCM would cause shocking distortion to be played. When I contacted Emotiva about it they said it was the Oppo not muting the output when it changed formats. I don't have any way of testing it as they are my only two DSD components, but there's no distortion in the Oppo's analog outputs, ever. But certainly it couldn't be Emotiva's flawless implementation of HDMI 2.0b... If I remember correctly the level of the distortion was based on the XMC-1s volume level, so it was repeatable without potentially causing damage to components. Maybe changing the Oppo's HDMI input type on the RMC/XMC to to v1.4 would fix the distortion? But you said it does not occur on firmware v2.1, only 2.2. That is quite interesting. I had hoped the RMC-1 was different enough that this issue would have disappeared, it's very concerning to see that it is still present. After reading through many of the bug fixes in this thread I pulled the trigger a couple weeks ago and sent in my XMC-1 for trade-in; my RMC-1L arrives in a few days..... At this point I'm scared of sending DSD to any Emotiva pre/pro. I'm considering selling the RMC-1L BNIB, continuing to use the Oppo's stereo outputs for DSD stereo and other stereo listening, and finding a different pre/pro to do surround sound processing. I guess expecting one device to do everything you want (and advertised), is too much to ask these days.

No Pops (RMC-1L), but I had to turn down the Volume on the Subwoofers. My system is simple, 7.1 with the L/R Fronts LARGE with Integrated Subwoofers. I lowered it -3db and it sounded a lot better.

The day is young as it's only been a little over an hour, but there you have it. Maybe it's like my mistake in updating my MacBook Pro to Big Sur. I'm finding that I like High Sierra much better on my older Mac mini. Dirac likes High Sierra better too.

Anybody else experiencing loud pop noise when navigating through any TV apps or when pausing/playing any content? I am worried that it might damage my speakers... It doesn't necessarily have to come from the rmc1. I also had these problems with the umc1. these are problems from the TV manufacturer, from the Digital Output

Seems impossible to have more bass in Reference Stereo. I looked it up to be sure: In Reference Stereo Mode: • The output is always TWO CHANNEL STEREO. • There is NO bass management, and NOTHING is sent to the subwoofer. • You CANNOT use the Loudness Control, or the Tone Presets, or the Tone Trims. • You CANNOT use Dirac Live or the manual Parametric EQ Presets. • Level Trims, which operate in the analog domain, are still available. • Speaker Distance adjustments are active for digital inputs but not for analog inputs. • Stereo analog input signals are passed straight to the Volume Control and the outputs. • Stereo digital input signals are converted to analog then sent to the Volume Control. • Surround sound digital signals are decoded, mixed down to stereo (the Center Channel and LFE signals, if present, are mixed into the stereo output), and converted to analog. I'm honestly struggling with this a bit right now because these are the "facts" as I understood them. However, it seems very evident to me that running in Reference Stereo the "Enhanced Bass" option is adding more bass to my mains. I'm getting ready to write up a review on this because I just setup Dirac and that eliminated a ton of bass from my system, but it's very evedient that "Enhanced Bass" is doing something in Reference Stereo mode. I set my setup rmc1l + dsp via the reference output. I once noticed this phenomenon with the extended bass and was even able to prove it with measurements. I'm trying to test this again.

It worked fine on my 6s, but never worked on my 12 ProMax ... just crashed every time Now on the 12 ProMax and iOS 14.5 it seems to work. Although when I'm upmixing 2 channel it says Dolby Surround on the phone irrespective of whether it's DDSurround or dtsNeural:X on th eprocessor. Glad to have it back though!

This thread is really long, so I am going to ask something that might have been covered already... sorry.
I just received my XMC-2 and I am experiencing some audio drop outs. These are moderately frequent, and last probably 20ms or so. I tried different HDMI cables with no change. It happens on multiple sources as well.
Has anyone else had this issue? If you have had this issue, how did you fix it?
Barring this issue, I am very pleased with the unit. I think it sounds more open than the XMC-1, and I really loved my XMC-1.
