Just wait for the RMC-2...OMG, what a great trade-in offer. This one will fix everything :-) Ok just kidding, but I'm tired and frankly out of gas with this processor. I would have jumped a while ago, but the supply chain/chip shortage has limited what is available.
Sorry for venting, but I have hit my end of the rope waiting for these things to be fixed. Yes, I have implemented workarounds, but at this price point that should not be necessary.

As you are well aware if you have been an Emotiva customer for awhile....they have gone from full communication and transparency to silence due to getting slammed and racked over the coals when something would not be released on time. I do agree though that it's time for another update on progress at this point. Maybe send Keith a PM. I doubt he would answer if it was a negative question or regarding a firmware update at this point. I’m quite sure he reads most comments here even though he says he doesn’t. How else can he always comment on specific things were he have strong opinions and/or knowledge about? And in many of those cases write a page long comment that many times doesn’t even answer the users question or problem.. Then completely ignoring a direct question in the same thread a post later.. Btw I’m not asking for Emotiva to spill the beans about everything they are doing.. Or giving us dates on releases.. That’s impossible, especially for them history has proven.. Just that this bug has been with us for over a year now and have been talked about as an issue in the forums (and reported to Emotiva before that) for atleast 6 months if not longer. It was over a month ago when we got the ”it’s imminent” comment.. So a little update on the delay is due IMO.. This is quite a big bug as well.. A bug that should never been let loose from a company that prides itself in having ”the most neutral sound” and among the best sound overall. I’m quite sure ”if” this bug would have been released by anyone else a point fix release would have been issued ASAP. Not incorporated in the next ”big” release +6 months later. Again....have you contacted Keith directly? Not to defend him or Emotiva in general, but to just assume he is reading all this and choosing not to respond because it's negative makes no sense. IMO he is very responsive. I've spoken to him on the phone as well as via IM. You may not get the answer that you want, but you won't know by just posting here. I don't mean to sound harsh and apologize if this sounds that way, but I've always found that with anything in life, direct contact saves time and hopefully frustration. And yes, we do need an update concerning this issue.edit: In trying to be proactive I've sent an IM this morning to Keith asking him to take a look at this thread and issue and to provide a status.

Yes, we do have a fix for that, and we expect it to be included in the next major firmware release... But I do NOT have a definite date for that release yet... (other than "soon").

Thanks Keith! Does it fix all the BM issues? Specifically: - 3db boost with each BM speaker more than one ... two or three subs, or more than one large speaker (i.e. large pair of fronts; large LCR, etc) - BM boost ~8db added with FW 2.2 and continued with FW 2.3 - Difference in BM behavior with User and Dirac slots, possibly related to processing order

Hopefully the next FW fixes the random crackles and pops I'm still experiencing when turning on, turning off, switching inputs, switching surround modes, etc. I cringe every time my speakers make loud sounds that they're not supposed to make......

Thanks Keith for atleast acknowledge that you have the bug and will release a fix for it. Maybe you don’t know it but no one from Emotiva has acknowledged the bug officially. But I don’t agree how it has been handled. This should have been a prioritized point fix firmware that should have fixed before anything else.. I know we have talked about this before, but you should change to releasing more smaller firmwares with point fixes. The change from over promising and missing dates to not communicating at all is not good.. Niether is actually.. But over info is better than no info IMO. Communication is good when done right!

Imminent - " about to happen" Soon - " a short period of time" Although in Emospeak, both must mean eventually...

With the slow response to these issues, I wonder if they outsource their firmware development. If so, they are totally at the mercy of the developer/contractor. This will probably never get better until they bring development in-house. Or, they need to contract with a better developer and pay the price.
If the firmware development is in-house, then they have no excuse for the lengthy time to fix issues. They should be working day and night to get these issues resolved. This situation sorely hurts their reputation, and it is not just here on this forum, I've seen mention of it on other forums and groups.

I bought LG 2021's OLED, 65C1NA yesterday. With huge expectation, I connected it to my RMC-1L through HDMI ARC(eARC enabled). It's all 4 HDMI is 2.1 and HDMI 2 is eARC capable, although it does not matter for RMC-1L "yet". Anyway, my expectations turns frustration.... ARC functionalities? Good, it works better then old 65SK9000 and flawless "so far" ARC Dolby-Atmos? This drives me mad, especially Netflix app. I burrow APPLE TV 4K from friend. It only produce DOLBY MAT encoded Atmos signal. Netflix from APPLE TV 4K, Atmos has no problem at all, also Amazon Prime, Disney plus, etc. My expectation was that maybe Netflix app on new TV will able to play Atmos contents through my RMC-1L because my old TV did not. However all other apps such as Amazon Prime and Disney Plus and Apple TV plus are able to play Atmos contents through RMC-1L without any glitches, it is same as my old TV. Only Netflix does not. Ok, maybe Netflix app is not follow "Correct encoding rule" But it plays Atmos when I use my SAMSUNG Soundbar, Onkyo Processor, even 4 year old Denon AVR-X4400H!!! I really don't understand why Emotiva does not able to decode stream from "Netflix app on TV" which even 200$ soundbar can decode and play without any problem??? Don't blame Netflix, nor Netflix app developer, it is Emotiva who is incapable of makes 5000$ system not run like cheap soundbar..! I am frustrate... My complain point is only for this one. All others, ok, I don't have any regret. This is one hell of a device, I agree. But agree mean is not that I can skip "just tiny, worthless problem". Probably nobody in Emotiva has any interest on this "BUG". Yes, it is bug. It is there since the beginning, does not fixed for over 3 years now. Wow. P.S I was able to test StormAudio ISP MK2, on shop, with same LG OLED 77C1, with Netflix app on it, great Atmos sound it produces. Come on, Emotiva. Yes, it has over 20,000$ tag. So what? Price matters? Then what about 200$ soundbar???

Why the h*ll not? Yes, as doc1963 wrote.. To me imminent means just about to happen.. Like something announced on a monday and being released within the week. Soon on the other hand is vague.. Soon to me is probably not the same for you.. And certainly not the same for Emotiva.. Could actually be anything from hours to several weeks.. But sh*t happens.. Sometimes things change, but they should inform their users about what’s going on. Not announcing dates for releases.. Just plain information!

Does the app say Atmos is available when you choose source? If you get atmos from the TV Netflix app on all those other AVRs/prepro’s then it certainly points to a fault in Emotivas ARC handling. They should own a LG TV so they could test this themselves I would think. Have you reported your latest findings?

I can't quite remember right now, but I think this might be related to a JVC PJ and dual monitor usage with the G3P's. I'll try to find where this has been mentioned, probably in this thread, where having dual monitors connected has the issue you describe. I don't think my Epson causes an issue like this, but I'll check this tonight. I'm also on FW2.3.

That drives me crazy. Of course I report it to Emotiva years ago. And I asked here year ago. The answer or suggestion from users here at that time was that don't use ARC, don't use tv apps, something like this nuance. I don't buy that because that was worthless answers.

So it's a Netflix App on the LG tv that you want to get operating in ATMOS through the Emotiva processor, correct? The Emotiva processor is not eARC compatible yet, so maybe this has something to do with it, dunno, just a thought. With my Sony tv I have to disable the "eARC Auto" setting and set that to Off to make ARC work. Also, the last Sony tv firmware update caused ARC to cease to function entirely. I tried everything we all know about for two days, but everything failed. Then I decided to check the CEC Loopback Test to check if CEC was even working internally, because it wasn't working at all that I could find. So I put the processor into Test Mode and ARC started working right away. So this was just my tv apps that I was trying to get working over ARC, and after initiating the Test Mode it started working. I'll check this tonight if I can.
