Yes it does but very seldom for HDMI or Analog input, but 50% chance for ARC input. As adam631 said, no need to cycle the power by off and on. Just select another input and back, usually cures problem. Mine also FW 2.3. I looked everywhere through the manuals for these processors and can't find where it specifies input switching as a necessary step to get the thing to function. I guess this is the intended behaviour and normal usage, but Emotiva forgot to document it? (I am being ironic here)

Do you have them on the correct output? TV should be on the ARC output, HDMI 2 I believe. I have a 4k TV and a 1080p projector.. It worked for me last time I tested.. A long time ago. You’re right TV on HdMI 2 and it works

I have had my RMC1L for about six weeks. All of a sudden, my audio drops out. I have to reach behind and turn off the switch, then restart. Anyone else having this issue? is there a fix? I'm pretty sure it's on the latest firmware. I continue to have this very same issue several times a week. I run everything through the new Xbox Series X connected to my RMC-1L and when watching videos on YouTube or switching sources to YouTubeTV the sound sometimes drops out for no apparent reason. It even occurs when I go to re-wind something and hit play the sound will completely go out. Sometimes it goes several days without interruption and other days it cuts out multiple times a day. Switching inputs never fixes the issue for me. The only way I have found a solution to get it to work again is by holding down the power button on the front of the device for several seconds until it does a hard restart. I have also done a factory reset on the device and re-installed firmware 2.3 but I still experience the issue all the time. It is extremely annoying considering the fact that I paid $4k+ on the receiver and the audio cuts out all the time, especially when having friends over. I have contacted Emotiva Support about this issue months ago and all they will say is that sometimes the source signal becomes corrupted and the receiver does not know what to do with it which causes the audio to cut out and that their is really nothing they can do about it. Funny how I had a $400 Yamaha receiver for years before the “upgrade” and it never once had this issue. Hopefully a firmware update with fix the problem but good luck with or when it ever comes out.

What outputs are on Xbox x, has it optical or coax, if so try having that as sound source and see if you still get drop outs

Ive had the same issue for a year... on a new XMC-2 but what to do. I was going to take the upgrade for my other 2 XMC-1's but this is having me on the fence at this late hour still. Cant even sell my XMC-2 because of Emotiva history of software bugs never getting resolved - its a shame. Just might have to sit on the XMC-2 until such time as they fix it and try to maybe sell the XMC-1's as at least they are stable or 99% of the time no issues - just not 4K switching which is an issue I can work around and live with 7.2.

Hello there
since yesterday I have a RMC-1 and unfortenatly there is a problem with „Starting form Standby“ and „Video Ramains on / Lowest Power“ Modes.
Before I describe what the Problem is I will inform you that I had a XMC-1 V1 and a XMC-1 V3 and two UMC-200 before. So I know your processsor and i am not a beginner with Emotiva. Also I use a Fat32 USB stick and I had wait more than 30 minutes after the Update procedere that the rmc shut down but the problem are still there.
Yesterday I installed the RMC-1 in my living room and use it all the time without shuting down. Today in the Morning I go to the RMC-1 and had to feel with my hand that the RMC-1 is still warm like I have used it. Yesterday all the time. Today after my work I made some test and a video about the problems.
1. It makes no difference between the Standby-Modes „Low Power Mode“ and „Video-Remains-On“ . The HDMI-Pass-Through is all the time active. If I push the Standby-Button on the Front or remote, the RMC-1 shut down. In both modes the Video or the player is passing through. Also the relais are not clicking if the „Low Power“-Mode is active. There is just a very silent „plopp“ in both modes.
2. If I shut down the RMC-1 via the Stand-by Button on the Front or of the remote, the RMC-1 turns off like decribed above. When I turn it on it will not rebeoot/load complete. It will hang off and the Display shows „RMC starting“ and the ring araound the knoob is on circulating. Then I have to use the main switch on the back. After the RMC-1 was turned of with the Main-Switch on the back it will reboot normaly and works when I push the on-Button of the remote or on the front correctly.
The RMC-1 arrived with the Firmware 1.3a. Yesterday I made an update to 1.9 and today to 2.3 and alle the time the problemes are still there.
I‘ve made a video. I could Upload it to youtube or gmail drive. So you could see what the problem is.
What could I do? Please help me.

This sounds familiar, I think someone else had the same issue with their processor.
You've already updated the firmware and get the same results, so I don't know what else you might try other than disconnecting all HDMI cables and network cable, then turn off the rear power switch for at least 10 minutes, then turning back on with the processor still not connected to anything. Then try a "normal" reboot and see what happens. Might be the same thing, but this method should be the best chance of getting the thing to boot up.

XMC-2 question, is it possible to have the video from one HDMI input but the audio from another HDMI input? I know I can do HDMI video and coax / toslink audio but not sure if / how to do HDMI video and then switch to HDMI audio from a different input without it switching the video also?

Maybe we should put these things on a timer, so it totally shuts off at night.

Why would you even want to do that to begin with?
