Why would you even want to do that to begin with? MadVR HTPC, one HDMI runs into capture card (which does not handle audio) second HDMI runs into AVP for the audio. Basically a way to process / tonemap streaming services by using free version of MadVR on existing HTPC.

Hello there since yesterday I have a RMC-1 and unfortenatly there is a problem with „Starting form Standby“ and „Video Ramains on / Lowest Power“ Modes. Before I describe what the Problem is I will inform you that I had a XMC-1 V1 and a XMC-1 V3 and two UMC-200 before. So I know your processsor and i am not a beginner with Emotiva. Also I use a Fat32 USB stick and I had wait more than 30 minutes after the Update procedere that the rmc shut down but the problem are still there. Yesterday I installed the RMC-1 in my living room and use it all the time without shuting down. Today in the Morning I go to the RMC-1 and had to feel with my hand that the RMC-1 is still warm like I have used it. Yesterday all the time. Today after my work I made some test and a video about the problems. 1. It makes no difference between the Standby-Modes „Low Power Mode“ and „Video-Remains-On“ . The HDMI-Pass-Through is all the time active. If I push the Standby-Button on the Front or remote, the RMC-1 shut down. In both modes the Video or the player is passing through. Also the relais are not clicking if the „Low Power“-Mode is active. There is just a very silent „plopp“ in both modes. 2. If I shut down the RMC-1 via the Stand-by Button on the Front or of the remote, the RMC-1 turns off like decribed above. When I turn it on it will not rebeoot/load complete. It will hang off and the Display shows „RMC starting“ and the ring araound the knoob is on circulating. Then I have to use the main switch on the back. After the RMC-1 was turned of with the Main-Switch on the back it will reboot normaly and works when I push the on-Button of the remote or on the front correctly. The RMC-1 arrived with the Firmware 1.3a. Yesterday I made an update to 1.9 and today to 2.3 and alle the time the problemes are still there. I‘ve made a video. I could Upload it to youtube or gmail drive. So you could see what the problem is. What could I do? Please help me. benvader0815 - ttocs is right, I posted about this a while back along with another user (baku). We both had the same issue you have described with low power standby not working correctly.
Can't share a fix I'm afraid, in both of our cases after troubleshooting with support the ultimate solution was a replacement unit. I actually just got my replacement unit today but so far so good - it came with firmware v2.3 already applied and low power standby is working perfectly.

In my quest to know, I came across this today regarding NETFLIX and ATMOS availability. It's from: www.digitaltrends.com/home-theater/dolby-atmos-surround-sound/#!6r1Np" Netflix, for instance, has a good selection of Dolby ATMOS movies and shows. But the company’s rules around which devices are given access to ATMOS versions are very strict: Only devices that can fully decode Dolby ATMOS are granted the right to stream ATMOS soundtracks.
At the moment, we know of only a few streaming devices that do this: The Apple TV 4K, the Nvidia Shield TV 2019, the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 (its more powerful sibling), Amazon’s Fire TV Cube, and Microsoft’s Xbox One S and X gaming consoles.
All other ATMOS-capable streamers — like Roku Ultra or Amazon’s Fire TV 4K — use Dolby ATMOS passthrough (they simply send the ATMOS content straight through to the TV, soundbar, or A/V receiver for decoding). As such, the Netflix app denies them access to Dolby ATMOS soundtracks. " This helps to possibly explain why trying to get ATMOS to be available when streaming from tv's via ARC won't work. When I read this it leads me to conclude it's NETFLIX that is not cooperating and allowing PASSTHROUGH to let the stream hit our processor. Am I understanding this correctly?

However, it would not send the same Netflix Atmos content to my RMC-1L. The only thing to have changed in this scenario is the processor...

Denon, Marantz, Onkyo receiver/processor work without any hiccups with Netflix through TV ARC, I myself confirm it with various brand/models. Only emo processors has problem. Samsung, LG, Bose, JVC, Harman Soundbars also playing ATMOS from TV Netflix. No problem. Even nowhere-I-heard-before cheap soundbar from Aliexpress works!!!! No way!!!!

After finding I couldn't stream Atmos from the Netflix app on my Fire TV I bought a Nvidia Shield Pro. I just figured it was Amazon's way to make Prime better than Netflix on their products. I didn't imagine Netflix would limit it's own app... Watching Mad Max Fury Road last night with Kodi on my Nvidia Shield Pro and my RMC-1 showed this: Atmos/TrueHD. Yes I use the subtitles, maybe I'm getting old!

After reading about the RMC-1 struggling with getting Atmos content from other people's TVs. Remember I just mentioned that and blamed my TV and bought a Nvidia Shield Pro to fix the problem. I wonder if I hook the Nvidia to my TV and then send it down to the RMC-1 if I'll still get Atmos? Maybe I'll play around with that tonight. I almost hate to make any changes, I've been working with Emo tech support about handshake issues I've been having since I got my RMC-1 a few months ago.
But I just ordered a LG OLED to replace my Insignia (Best Buy) LED Fire TV. I don't claim to have top of the line anything but I've always felt like my TV was the weak link in my setup. It was a 70" 4k TV I bought on sale for $499. I knew it was a cheap TV, but for the money and being 4k I figured I'd give it a try. As a result I've always blamed my problems on it. I'm starting to wonder if the RMC-1 is the root of my handshake issues, I'm guessing when the new TV arrives Wednesday I'll find out. I ordered the LG because I've always been unimpressed with the picture quality, especially blacks on my current TV. Again you get what you pay for.

For those reading this thread as relatively new to the Emotiva processor world - can I add - HDMI handshake, ARC returns from various TV's, and Dolby Atmos issues are commonly reported here. So from a certain perspective most of these can be resolved with the use of suitable (Netflix Atmos-approved) device. I use a NVIDIA Shield 2019 Pro with RMC1. It works. I do still need to switch sources on occasion - but it works everday and I get Dolby Atmos from steaming services. Consider the options when dealing with ARC issues with TV's. Either get fustrated or solve the problem. There is already a HDMI from the processor to the TV and the processor has plenty of inputs. So just get the additional Box and move on. I know your TV Arc is supposed to be great - but if it's not working with your Emotiva instead of focusing on that issue - just workaround it and get the quality your need for relatively not much cost. Anyway - just a thought 😘😘😘😁😁

I gave up on getting source from my TV, thinking at the time the cheap TV was the problem. I turn off all CEC and ARC stuff since I have a Harmony Elite. But that said the handshake issue with my Blu-ray player is getting old. I hate workarounds but since my LG has two HDMI outs I broke down and sent one right to the TV and one right to the RMC-1 and changed the TV input on the Watch Blu-ray activity with my Harmony. It works great now, but to be honest with a pre/pro of this price point should we have to use work arounds? To answer my own question: No we shouldn't have to figure out work arounds, but life is too short to be pissed off every time you sit down and things don't work. Me refusing to use separate HDMI outputs on my Blu-ray player for a while was kind of pride based. I shouldn't have to... Not worth the fight. Before the RMC-1 my last Emo pre/pro was an early UMC-1. Believe me it could be worse!!!!

Issue about Netflix Dolby ATMOS from TV via ARC.... Some people suggest solution that use Apple TV, Nvidia Shiled.... Yes, it does solve this issue. Even use PC, it solve issue, of course. However it is just "pass root problem and use other device". Emotiva must fix this "BUG". What is main difference between using TV app and using other device?
Simple is this:
TV app issue : ARC handshake problem especially with Netflix app. (This is not a issue at all with other direct or indirect competitors...!!) Using other device : Atmos stream goes directly to HDMI IN. Not from ARC. If this has problem, it is not a problem from Emotiva but faulty stream device.
Yes, just simply, I can use Apple TV which I had before. Even I can use my PC which connected to my RMC-1 directly on HDMI 1. I don't understand that why people keep saying "Use other device"? It is not a way to solve root problem which only Emotiva has. Emotiva should not say "Oh, forget about Netflix app issue, tell them use other device"?

They even don't like Harmony. I never saw they use Harmony. Beside of that, because TV app was just fine with other brands which I use before, my wife complaining about spend money for RMC and said "It does not work as before!" And yes, I also just can't pass over this "small and unworthy issue".

My wife does use the Apple TV4K, but it took awhile. Sometimes they still use the built in TV apps, but less as time goes by.

I think we underestimate the complexity of our systems. I have Multiple Tivos, Streaming from Multiple devices, etc. I get the question all the time, do I use the Netflix app on the TV, TIVO, AppleTV, or the Blu-Ray player.... The Universal Remote works great as long as you use the right device. I've built a lot of logic in to the Remote macros to ensure stuff works.
BUT... when things go out of sync, they go south fast. The RMC doesn't help because of it's intermittent issues.
Utopia would be devices being state aware and all working seamlessly together. I highly doubt we will see that in our lifetime :-) (or at least mine)

The last public firmware update for the XMC-2 Family of processors was "6/16/2021". So, we have now gone 6 months without any updates to address the myriad of issues we experience. Every day, I must fight with my XMC-2 to work with my 2021 Sony A80J TV to get basic sound to work over ARC. I have learned enough to eventually get it to work but every day the startup steps I must go through can take up to ten or fifteen minutes. I have observed many things including that there seems to be a long delay between when the XMC-2 is awake and when it is ready to engage ARC. I find waiting a number of minutes until I try to engage helps to eventually get things working. I believe this is caused by some very long delay in Emotiva's boot routine that causes these time outs that cause my Sony to switch back and forth rapidly about 20 times between TV Speaker and Audio System. About once a week, I have a total failure and none of my tricks will get sound to work which causes me to have to do a full power shutdown and reboot. I believe this is caused by a memory leak in the XMC-2 which requires this action. I worked for Microsoft as an engineer decades ago and I observed many memory leaks.
Additionally, I reported and had an email exchange with Emotiva support about a bug in the volume levels of the balanced analog input. They were able to replicate my bug and acknowleged it but then things went silient with no update on what was to be done about it.
Enotiva chooses not to address how users can get their TVs working with their processors by posting FAQs or any kind of bulletin. Instead, users are on their own to develop work arounds. Emotiva doesn't even communicate if they have tested with populer models of TVs. I suggested in a previous post that Emotiva buy one of each major TV maker's model each year to proactively test. Maybe they do, but we don't hear about it.
It looks like we will not get another firmware in 2021. I wonder if we will go another six months.
If a new firmware is coming, I am growing increasingly fearful that another kitchen sink fix firmware will introduce a slew of new problems. Emotiva chooses not to communicate anything about their firmware and testing process. Seeing the results so far, I have no confidence in their regression testing. How else to explain something as basic as my analog volume bug? How does this stuff get through?
I am very sorry to be so negative. I have been buying Emotiva equipment since the very beginning. I want to say nothing but good things but this lack of progress in firmware is very depressing. I really believe Emotiva would be much better serverd by issuing very frequent small targeted updates rather than these long waits for updates. Fix the easy stuff quickly and keep iterating.
Today, I installed my Channel Islands PLC-1 passive preamp with HT bypass. I did this because I have lost confidence in the balanced analog direct to volume of the XMC-2. I noticed an immediate clarity and stablity to my turntable playback now that I am going direct from my Gold Note PH-10 to the PLC-1 volume control and out to my amp.
I had hoped that the XMC-2 would be a single box solution, but it continues to fail me.
