I have my Dirac equipment setup correctly, networks firing away, everything's ready to go. Except when I go into setup, speakers, Dirac.......I get "Dirac not available" Why? What have I missed? Simple fix. Unplug the EDNIB. Cold boot the processor, Rear Switch Off for at least a minute, 60 seconds, more than 59 seconds. After switch on and processor is booted, verify the processor IP. Then, Plug in EDNIB. It'll take anywhere from 20 seconds to two minutes for the EDNIB to be seen by the processor such that the processor can Enable Dirac. If this doesn't work, something else is wrong. This is 100% successful for all that have tried, as long as nothing else is wrong.

Do both the processor and EDNIB connect to the same router? How are they wired? I have never "not" gotten the EDNIB to be seen by the processor after rebooting the EDNIB, so something else is funny somewhere. I'm currently using a Netgear EX6200 wifi extender for just the XMC-2 and EDNIB, this allowed me to move the cable modem and main wifi router away from the living space and also keep the EDNIB in a handy spot. This extender is not as "friendly" with the EDNIB as my Asus AC68U which doesn't get flummoxed by anything when connected directly to its ports, but even so, the EDNIB is easy to get going by booting the processor first, then the EDNIB.

The mic is connected to the Dell (Which is also where Dirac live is running) I submitted my email address and processor ip to Emotiva via their Emotiva/Dirac web page on Thursday. The processor shows connectivity so does the Dell. The EDNIB shows on one side a solid green light and on the other side a kind of green and flashing red light. The only other condition that I will mention is that there are 3 other devices (2 hubs & a Sony flat screen) connected to the switch. Everything shows connectivity! I am at a loss?

Is anyone having trouble with their Dirac password? I tried to log in and rerun Dirac because I got some new speakers and made some adjustments to accommodate a larger projection screen, and my old password did not work. I have tried to request a reset email link several times and nothing arrives, in my spam or inbox.
I can't even contact Dirac without my password.

Ok, that's good that they are all on the same segment. So to recap: You've turned off both the EDNIB and processor so there's no power to both, rear switch off for the processor. Then after at least a minute you turned on the processor and waited for it to fully boot and verify the IP in Menu::Information. Once the IP is verified you then turned on the EDNIB. Then after waiting a minute or two, you checked went to Menu::Setup::Speakers::Preset-1::Dirac Live:: and did not see "Enable and checkbox" but instead see "Not Available". Is this correct? And this is before starting the Dirac App on the computer, right? Because the app doesn't matter for getting the processor to see the EDNIB, all that's needed is the processor and EDNIB. Is there any VPN running? If so, turn it off.

Sign up again so you can submit a Support Ticket. The account profile used with Dirac 1 is only for Dirac 1. No password is needed for Dirac 3.x.x. The Dirac account in regards to Dirac 3, as far as I can tell, is only good for seeing information not available without it including being able to submit a request to support. It has nothing to do with running Dirac 3. When I started using Dirac 3 with the XMC-2 I thought the account would "know" that I had the processor and was running Dirac 3, but it doesn't.

I tried everything stated a forth time and still no positive results.

It usually takes a couple days for it to get registered. Probably just hasn't gotten all the way through the registration process yet. You could call Emo and see if they can expedite the process. Or wait.

I'm assuming you have DHCP handing out addresses, can you see the EDNIB listed there (there usually is a Client/Lease list). The reason people are asking about IP's is that the three legs (XMC, EDNIB, and Computer) needs to be on the same segment for Dirac to work properly. If the IP's check out and you have connectivity, you probably need to Phone Support.

Running Dirac Live 3.xx on the XMC-2 / RMC-1 / RMC-1L
#1)
If you get the "NOT AVAILABLE" error IT HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH THE LICENSE BEING ACTIVATED. If the license isn't activated you will get an error message "No active license found" FROM THE SOFTWARE after it is running.
The Not Available error means that the processor has been unable to make a network connection with the EDNIB (Raspberry Pi).
#2) When the EDNIB boots up look at the lights on the front (the end OPPOSITE the wires).
The big red light should light steadily and stay lit - always (if not then you probably have a bad AC adapter). The little tiny green light in the corner of the red light should flicker for several seconds then settle down to an occasional flicker. If the green light flashes a slow pattern of four steady flashes that is an error - and means that the program card is bad (or missing). (I'm assuming the big LED ON the front is still red... although they could change it someday.)
#3) The Ethernet ports on our processors take about THIRTY SECONDS to reset when you power the processor off.
If you power the processor off, and turn it back on too soon, the processor will start, BUT THE ETHERNET ADAPTER WILL NOT WORK.
(So, if you power the processor down, make sure to do a nice slow "thirty count" before turning it back on.)
#4) On our processors... If you see a network address of 0.0.0.0 that means that the processor has failed to get an address... (0.0.0.0 is a "bad" address)
However, even if you see an address that APPEARS to be good, that does not PROVE that you have a good address.
If the processor fails to get an address it may decide to use "the last good address it remembers" - which will probably not work.
(So, if there's a problem, it's a reasonable precaution to verify that the address the processor is showing agrees with the one your router assigned to it.)

Wasnβt there a video tutorial?
Honestly thatβs what is needed here so the user can check stuff off step by step.
When my XMC2 says Dirac is βNot Availableβ all I do is turn off the XMC2 for about a minute - then turn it back on. While itβs booting I unplug the EDNIB for like 10 seconds and plug it back in. Then once the XMC2 finishes booting up, I just go back to the Dirac in the menu and itβs ready.

I spoke to Keith yesterday and he was very helpful. Emotiva to the rescue by shipping me a new EDNIB box. It turns out mine was damaged and the cause of my frustration. I will report back after my new one arrives!
Thanks Keith and Emotiva!

Is their a good step by step for setting up Dirac. I have looked at different videos and it seems people set up the gain the mic gain at different levels and the volumes at different db levels. Also when you run Dirac and loaded it does it set your speakers size and crossover points or is that set from when you set up up your speakers at the initial set up .

Allen The Emotiva/Dirac manual available on their website is pretty good. cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2572/6926/files/DIrac_User_Manual_v14.pdf?v=1595436715It would be nice if Emo did an updated video on YT, especially showing how to set up the LBB into your network and how to troubleshoot the problems that often pop-up before getting into Dirac. Then how to set up the speaker levels and gain and do measurements, adjustments and loading. I find a video easier to follow than a manual- but that's just me. You need to set up speaker sizes and cross-overs. Dirac does not do that. Cross-overs can be changed after loading Dirac- they do not affect the Dirac calibration. You can use the Dirac measurements to give you an idea of the speakers range, but ultimately it's T&E to set cross-over to what you like best. Speaker sizes cannot be changed after Dirac is run. Speaker sizes and x-overs can be different in 'Preset 1' and 'Preset 2', so for example you can set up one preset for stereo listening with fronts only set to large and no sub (if front speakers can handle the LF), and set up 'Preset 2' for movies with fronts set to small and sub(s) integrated for bass management or LFE or both. There a many here on this thread who are willing and able to help with any questions you may have. Emo tech is very helpful. They can often walk you through a problem better over the phone than can be done on this thread. Good luck.

Thank you for the feed back, I talked with Damien a couple of weeks ago but it took so long to get my computer and xmc2 on the same network that we hurried through the diract set up. I just need to call him back and do it again. I had problems after I got off of the phone with him with my gain changing every time a ran a speaker calibration. I had my left surround sounding to load and I thought I blew a speaker but after going in and lowering the speaker out put it sounded okay. Allen

Hey yall... I upgraded my XMC-1 that was rock solid for 5 years to an XMC-2 and am frustrated with the Dirac Live setup.
I am a tech guy that works in IT for over 15 years. I also have a miniDSP for a studio monitor stereo setup that uses Dirac 3 (literally on the same laptop I'm typing this up on).
First problem I had was the requirement for the tiny switch and interface. Long story short, I think my switch is not working correctly as its hit or miss after rebooting everything if XMC-2 gets an IP address. And even when it did have an IP, Dirac 3 software would never discover XMC-2 even though I could ping the IP from the computer and Dirac Live was toggle enabled. I spent way too much time reboot crap in various order in attempt to get this all working...did anyone test this? I can't imagine a non-tech guy dealing with this. I recently just gave up on it and plugged the interface and XMC-2 into my main switch and that seems to work fine.
Next is you must toggle 'enable dirac live' on XMC-2 and keep it there while you run the Dirac 3 software. This is soooo not initiative especially if the same computer that's using XMC-2 for monitor output is also running the Dirac Live software. You have a huge black box on your screen and are supposed to click through Dirac 3 settings etc.
I finally got to the point to even get it connecting, but then realized the freaking master volume toggle in Dirac 3 DOES NOTHING. The speakers play at max volume, which is a nice shock (or rather pain in the ear) when you hit the play button expecting volume to be low. You can reduce volume per speaker by only up to 12 DB, which I did to ensure all speakers are in the right zone. Then it does a measurement and keeps saying 'noise levels too high or low quality recording.'
I tried using 2 different customers and 2 different mics (including my miniDSP calibrated mic) to get the same results. The room isn't studio quiet, but there is nothing loud to trigger this failure.
Last is XMC-2 makes my speakers make intermittent popping sounds when my computer goes idle (monitor goes black/screen saver). XMC-1 never did this.
I got this thing last week and it has the lastest firmware 2.2 on it. What am I supposed to do get this working? It shouldn't be this hard....
