I thought we had all just accepted that it would not be happening with this generation of processors? Keith more or less said that without any of the usual hanging in the air possibility, even suggesting if you need it, to look elsewhere. Well I didn't see that. And now if that is true I will be selling my RMC1l. So stay tuned. And please don't tell me I am being to sensitive. It was promised with Dirac Unison. I am not one to complain but that will be the icing on the cake. And please don't quote some crap that someone from Emotiva said, later on. And yes I am ticked off. I believed in this and sold my Krell Foundation. What a mistake that would be. |

I look at it this way ...
A couple years after introducing the RMC/XMC-2 lines Emotiva is still sorting out some core functionality issues, and haven't yet released expansion modules. They made the right decision to prioritize their limited resources on these issues and getting basic Dirac working. These most certainly are expectations they should be held to.
Meanwhile two years later, DLBC still doesn't work from the Dirac side on the other platforms that do support it. Emotiva made the right decision not to spent resources "chasing Tinkerbell", and rather wait until DLBC is stable and working.
Personally, I never thought anything past basic Dirac Live was promised as part of the product from the beginning.

I personally don't remember KeithL saying anything of the sort. For that matter, I thought DLBC would be coming to the G3P processors. So while I know it wasn't your intent to stir up a frenzy, Links to your claims that KeithL said that DLBC wouldn't be coming to the RMC-1/RMC-1L/XMC-2 would be useful in backing up your statement of KeithL saying to look elsewhere. |

Seems I cant find it anywhere, looked for hours now...
but I recon I read at some forum someone from dirac said all material on DLBC was sent over and that emo was working on it... know it sounds far fetch... sorry I cant find it back, and even more sorry if I mixed things up.
Maybe someone else read the same, or even better emo comes out with a statement.

The last things I read from Dirac themselves (about getting it to work from their side) were disappointing. That was within the past month or two. Mark |

Given the history on DLBC, I will remain skeptical until I read more about actual in-use performance. If it truly does a great job at co-optimizing multiple subs, it will live up to what most expected. Mark (And, it's great to hear from Keith that making DLBC work on the G3P's is in the plan. Further, his answer of "yes" is the single most concise answer he's every given! Typically, if you ask him if it's Tuesday, he requires 3-5 paragraphs to answer and you are left wondering if it is or is not indeed Tuesday! Kudos to Keith's newfound brevity!!!!) |

Thought I would try a new DIRAC calibration with the latest version of the software. RMC-1 has FW version 2.2. When I start setting up DIRAC following EMOTIVA User Manual and setting the Master Output Level I never get a “Green Zone. The bar moves up but always remains “Black.” No mater how low/high I move the Master Output Level the current speaker playing pink noise never shows a green zone, always black. Does anyone know what I could possibly be doing wrong?
I’ve done a calibration with the previous version of DIRAC and the software operated normally with the associated green bar.

There is a revised (7/2020) Dirac guide and a Dirac FAQ that has updated instructions. I haven't checked YT lately to see if Emotiva has a new video showing the new Dirac instructions/changes. If not could Damon or Keith please produce a new video for running Dirac on the v3 processors. I assume others besides me find videos (well produced, clearly explained videos) an important source of information in addition to the written manuals. Thanks. |
