Now that I have the rears can I change the reflective speakers to front and if so how do I do it. Thanks in advance All the speaker 'assignments' are done under Menu > Setup > Speakers > Preset #> Size > In FW2.3 they are more in compliance with current Dolby Standards and Terminology. DD Reflective has it's own location now (and a different method than the others), you would set your fronts there, then use Rear Height to set your new speakers. Id' probably first set the current Height Speakers to 'None' and then back all the way out of the menu, then go back and make the settings you want.

As I'm getting ready to buy a new pair of fronts and will be needing to re-run Dirac, I'm looking forward to hearing about the new Dirac firmware. I will be most interested in how to set the Mic gain/Master volume/speaker volume settings recommendations are for using in the G3 processors. This seems to me to be the most 'fuzzy' part of the setup. Opinions vary depending on who you listen to. I'd like a definitive answer please. I think it may be time for a new YT video from Emo. Are you there Nick? Keith? I know it can't be done overnight, but let's make it a priority since Dirac is one of Emotiva's selling points. Just sayin'.

Just consider making certain you new speakers are compitible sound-wise with what you currently have.
Timbre Match is important so you have a seamless transition between speakers. I don't know that DIRAC is to the point of addressing that aspect.

I don't know that DIRAC is to the point of addressing that aspect. I am thinking of going from Goldenear Aon3's to Goldenear BRX. Read my signature for other speakers (all Goldenear exept SVS sub). Pretty sure that won't be a problem.

Indeed, the macOS app file for 3.1.1 is dated 6/22/2021. Yes, and I have checked the Dirac site a couple times a week for a couple months anticipating a new release. Recent interviews with Dirac leadership promised a release right about now, so here it is. As with most software (exception being John Mulcahy's notes for REW!), the release notes are sparse. This was definitely a major fix for DLBC, but is there anything in it for the rest of us? Who knows. I've posted that using Dirac 3.0.14 and our FW 2.3 I saw a change in how Dirac handles measurement levels that happened in early July WITHOUT a new Dirac release. So how did THAT happen? First thing I'll do with Dirac 3.1.1 is open my last saved project and see if Dirac goes through a conversion of the project as it has occasionally done in the past. That would be one clue. Then when I get a chance I'll do a new calibration and see what happens. Edit: I just loaded my July 17 calibration and it took 2:05 to load, and after saying "loading" for over a minute it said "updating filter calculations". I saved the project, closed Dirac, opened and loaded again and it loaded in 10 seconds. I tried another project from July with the same result (good testing practice! )

I believe there are some differences in how the new Dirac 3.1.1 processes bass frequency filters. I took the measurements (not the Project file, but saved measurements before preprocessing) from a July 28 3.0.14 calibration, and I opened them in 3.1.1. Then I ran the filters and compared the processing results from the same measurements with filter calculations from 3.0.14 and 3.1.1. I think it may have more to do with phase than frequency response because I also had to adjust crossover frequencies for my center and rear speakers. Overall results were significantly better.

I haven't done new measurements yet so I don't know if there will be a difference. I hope to try it sometime this week.

I recently got a new Salamander Designs console and changed out all of the gear. Center channel is no longer in the console but now directly under my new Sony OLED, front speakers have changed positions so I went to run the new Dirac v3.1.1 to update my new speaker positioning. I've now tried running the new version, my RMC-1 allows me to "Enable" Dirac Live in the in the Speaker Preset menu, which tells me the EDNIB has connected, I've pinged the RMC-1 IP address with success and I've logged into the Dirac Software on my Laptop, but it doesn't list any devices as registered when starting the program, yet a month ago everything was working fine. I've even reset the network and modem, to no avail. Has anyone here actually tried using the new Dirac v3.1.1 and had it successfully recognize your G3P? I've also checked on the actual Dirac website and it doesn't list any licenses for my account, I'm wondering if something is going on at Dirac's end?

LC, I have not run Dirac 3.1.1 completely yet, but I have run it enough for it to find my RMC-1 with no problem. When I check my Dirac account, I do not see a license for Dirac Live. I guess way back when we had to send in info to Dirac about our units (forget what the info was) that was how Dirac was authorized for our use. Does that make any sense? Have you tried a previous version of Dirac to see if that works properly? Have no other suggestions I'm afraid. Hope you can get it figured out.

I have not run Dirac yet because, this is going to sound stupid, I am afraid too. I am afraid of the loudness of the tones. I remember when I ran Dirac way back with my XMC-1 and I thought the tones were going to tear the walls down. When finished, it sounded great. But I live in a townhome and am afraid if I run Dirac now and it is as loud as it was in the past, I will be getting complaints.
I know this is silly of me but really did not like the loudness of the tones in the past. Is it still so loud you need to wear ear protection?
Thanks much,
Steve A.

I always uninstall the previous Dirac version using their Maintenance Tool. I did this earlier today and installed 3.1.1 with no issues. Ran it and loaded new filter. I will suggest that if you get it running to always do a Cold Boot after running Dirac. I found this out a while back that weird things can happen with Levels if a cold boot is not done.

When you set up the volume keep it to a comfortable level and the measurements will be fine. If for some odd reason the measurement gets loud, Dirac will detect it and shut it down. Don't worry

No matter what I do, when I run the Dirac software on my laptop, I get "No Devices Found". I would assume that my RMC-1 has been dropped from the Dirac servers as a licensed/approved processor since it is no longer being found. It worked a month ago on this same laptop, so I'm just not sure what if anything has changed. I've filled out the Emotiva form with my Name/Processor/MAC Address again and submitted it, so I guess I'll give this a go again next weekend. I doubt I'll have any time to call and talk with Tech Support this week as I've been averaging 65-70hrs/week at work lately so hopefully its a license glitch and it gets straightened out. The cold boot has been my standard practice for quite some time as well.
