Wasn't sure what was the right place to ask this so I decided to post here as it seems to be an active board.
I never ended up upgrading from the LMC as it continued to suit my needs. A while ago I noticed that surround sound didn't quite sound right and quickly realized there was no sound in the center channel. After initial investigation I confirmed that it was the LMC not the amp as the silent channel moved with the cable when I plugged it into a different channel of the amp. Oddly enough it came back after tinkering with it for a while then went away again etc. Later I noticed the left channel was silent and the center continues to work though I'm not sure if it's 100%.
After reading some threads I noted that in Canada there is a distributor in Calgary. I'm sure shipping there would be much less than to the US. Anyone with any experience repairing old models in Canada?
Also, any idea what the problem could be? i.e. is it the surround chip and can be replaced (if parts are available) or something more involved? Based on the fact the center channel came back I would guess it's not the chip. Bad chips don't come back to life.
P.S. I have not tried to reset the unit yet as a hail Marry but might be worth a try.

the parts for this unit are no longer available most chips in processors reach end of life pretty quickly and you have got twice to three times the life span most customers that bought this unit did .
