I was thinking of using a pair of these between metal or wooden plates for speaker elevation, but I'm open to other ideas...

Open to alternate suggestions...
Need to go from a few inches up to about a foot in height. Want continuous adjustment - not fixed intervals. Has to be STURDY.

I like the idea. Are we welding the plate to the scissor jack, or using incredibly strong epoxy? Also the base of a scissor jack is fairly narrow. You might find maybe the smallest jack stands instead. Wow don't know how small or large you may need but they are more stable which is why you never rely on any jack to support your vehicle that you may go under or work on, but this has cool possibilities.

Something like an inverted projector lift might work. Did they have those back in the days of 100# CRT three eyed monsters?

You'll need 3 of those to make a tripod. That'll make it 3 axis adjustable. So if you use ball joints for the pivots it'll be smoooooth. edit: A tie rod end like this:

That will pair nicely with some cinder block and/or milk crate accents 🤣🤣

I want to have sturdy stands that can micro-adjust up and down and tilt. To my knowledge, nobody makes such stands. One of my audio amigos has some, but he welded his own, and they elevate in discreet steps, not continuously. Because nobody offers any commercial stands, I'm forced to DIY. And no, I don't anticipate cinder-blocks or milk crates, SteveH... Top and bottom plates should be simple ¼ to ½ inch steel stock. But to date, only the auto jacks seem to have the continuous elevation that I seek.

I suspect the reason such a product does not exist is there is no real need for one...

I'm kind of thinking the same thing. What you're looking for is the sort of thing most often reserved for pro-audio situations.
When finding the best position for their home speakers most people just use something temporary - like a stack of wooden plates or books. Then, once they find the best position, they make or buy something permanent at that fixed height and angle.
These folks offer a variety of stands optimized for specific speaker brands and models: (The company has been around as long as I can remember - and their stands are quite impressive.)
I had a pair of Vandersteen 2's years ago that came with matching Sound Anchor stands...
They also make EXACTLY what you're looking for.... but they are far from cheap....

When I made speaker stands, that is where I purchased my plates and rectangular tube. I purchased 1/4" x 12"x 12" plates for $18 each and they were perfectly square. 1/2" x 12" x 12" run $49 each. Have fun!!!! www.metalsdepot.com/steel-products/steel-plateA36 Steel Plate is one of the most popular hot rolled, low carbon steel plates used in manufacturing, fabrication, and repair projects. A36 Steel plate adds strength and rigidity to any project at a lower price compared to other grades of steel plate. It is easy to weld, cut, form and machine.
