Have you viewed this >>>
The SVS subs look cheaply made compared to the Emo. If I needed a sub I'd choose the Emotiva.
Yeah I have.... and I was impressed by it

I like both Subwoofers. Frankly though the SVS is the smarter of the two. With a Phone app, something Emotiva has been resistant to do. Why? Phones are rapidly taking the place of the remote control you can never find anyway. The app is adjusted at your chair or favorite seating area. Something the Emotiva cannot do. For a 2 channel rig especially the SVS is better. No back and forth. Unlike the Emotiva and to be fair others. The days of back and forth to get the Subwoofer right is at an end. Maybe next Gen for Emotiva and others. It is not enough to have power and the driver and DSP. You have to have the tune from you listening place process. No excuse today not to have it. 10 years ago, yeah. Now? No.
I am pushing for more universal control for our technology right from our smartphones or tablets. My USB Interface is nowhere on the network except via USB to my computer, yet my smartphone and tablet and talk to it, and make any adjustment I want. Come on manufacturers! Wake up and smell the automation and stop resisting!

I've auditioned the SB-3000 and it’s a very good and very capable subwoofer, but ultimately ended up returning for no other reason except that PSA (Power Sound Audio) had just announced a newly revamped S1512 which I always had my eyes on and very much wanted to try. My S1512’s are INSANELY good ( especially with music), but since you’re in Canada, the cost of importing a pair may be just as prohibitive as the Emotiva you’re also considering. So, I won't go there. The SB-3000 has ample power, great performance (for its size) and couldn’t be simpler to operate thanks to its Bluetooth app. Everything that you’ve read about the SB-3000 is true. On the Emotiva side, prior to my PSA (and short term SVS ownership), I had a pair of Emotiva’s X-Ref 12’s for several years. They were also very decent subwoofers for both HT and music and I was happy owning them. Over the years, the single “big rubber button” rotary controller (which you used to control every function of the internal amp and DSP) became a little flaky. Other than for that, they were very reliable. The RS13 looks (on paper) to also be a very worthy contender and, looking at the design of the driver, should offer similar performance to that of my PSA’s (Italian made) B&C Neo driver. Being myself a person that prefers a subwoofer that offers controlled “musicality’ over gut wrenching LFE (but can also offer some up when it’s needed), I’d give the RS13 some serious consideration. It " should" outperform the SB-3000. I do agree with previous posters that you’ll be happy with either (especially the SB-3000 in pairs), but ultimately the SVS will give you exactly what you’re looking for at a lower cost. Good luck and enjoy whichever you choose...

Oh yeah with the SVS and the Emotiva, as costly as it might be. 2 of them are ideal if not more. Novisnick is going to like me here. Like Dual Mono Subwoofers.

I already have 4 subwoofers now LOL... Plan is to retire the two small ones to the bedroom; the "spare" one to the racetrack/cottage; and the big one... have not decided. For gits-and-shiggles I may run 4 subs for a while

Ordinarily this is where I'd chime in with a recommendation to look at HSU Research. But no mas. I called 'em up and they will NOT give me a schematic of a product which is a DOZEN years old. They claim an agreement with the manufacturer of the amp and will NOT discuss it. And I was NOT given the option of signing a Non-Disclosure. IF I HAD a Christmast list, they'd be OFF it. BS....... BS.......BS.........
As for multiple subs? In problem rooms FOR SURE. You don't even need Mondo Subs...but most WILL benefit with more 'even' response at least.
As for THE sub? At that point you don't need BIG. When I bought my sub, I went over the room first. Without huge cable runs, I could only come up with 2 decent locations. But I took my entire budget and went for the ONE SUB solution. I could have afforded a PAIR of the single-tune 8" from the STF line. As it turns out, my room is sub-friendly. Lots of walls and several 45degree angles. Even an off-center peaked ceiling of about 11 feet at the top.
IF you have room, I'd recommend a brace of LESSER subs. Even 10" sealed. I really don't know about combining Sealed with Ported?
I'm equally certain that at some point, the 'Law Of Diminishing Returns' will apply. Will 6 subs be TWICE as good as 3? hardly.
