My Ashly "pro" power amp has a fan that sounds like a jet taking off. I replaced that original howler with an "ultra-quiet" unit off Amazon, but the new replacement's just as noisy as the original fan.
I'm looking for a fan that has the following specs:
120 x 120 x 25mm dimensions <10dBA noise level (but I'll tolerate 15dBA if I must) <1,000 RPM Between 25 and 50 SCFM capacity / single speed 110VAC powered (not 12VDC)
I'm not finding anything. Does anybody know of something like this?
Thanks - Boom

I was hoping to get by with the 120VAC already wired inside the amp case, and almost all the fans that y'all have recommended are 12VDC models. I've emailed Noctua, asking them if they have any fans that will do with 120VAC power, but if they say "no," then I need to convert the power to 12VDC. I think it would be easier to just use an external 12V wall-wart than to try to fit a rectifier inside the amp case? Again - open to suggestions...

ACInfinity's "Low speed" 120VAC fan is 1,800 RPM and 30dB. www.acinfinity.com/component-cooling/axial-ac-fan-kits/axial-1225-muffin-120v-ac-cooling-fan-120mm-x-120mm-x-25mm-low-speed/

I've never seen a sub 10dB AC fan... Noctua NF-S12B REDUX 700 = 6.8dBA and Noctua NF-S12A ULN = 8.6dBA The above are two examples. There are more.

I'm hoping one exists and I've somehow overlooked it. But if there's no such animal, then I have to go 12VDC to get the SPL I want.

I have 4 of them in my iCore 9 workstation including on the processor. There’s no fan noise in my office.

This is why using pro amps can be problematic if they are in the same room with you. But I'll be your silent fan, quietly watching from a distance.

I went into the future to retrieve the amp/fan that boom wanted BUT, upon return I had a little trouble and lost it on Re entry! 😢

Fan cost x 1,000 = amplifier cost...

Fan cost x 1,000 = amplifier cost... Using the proper equipment = 1000 X messing around with crap
