I bought several soft-side disc storage cases from Amazon (pictured below) that each hold 400 discs (50 sleeve pages of 4 sleeves on each side of the page) so I could put all my CD's, DVD's and BD's in the sleeves and get rid of all the cases that take up so much space. Question - should these be stored with the discs vertical or horizontal? What about if they have to be stacked? Attachments:

I store mine as if they were binders with the spine out, side to side. Not sure if that would be vertical or horizontal by your definition.

From what I've been able to find on the internet, that's how it should be to protect against warping. That's how I stored by vinyl back in the dinosaur days but I wasn't sure if CD's were prone to the similar problem.

I've never seen a CD (or equivalent) warp the same as I've seen vinyl warp. I think they have to have a certain amount of rigidity to be able to spin as fast as they do that keeps them from warping as bad.
