Audio just dropped again. Just finished Dirac calibration - have to wait and see if it's 1. Same 2. Better 3. Worse 4. Different ... oh wait - none if this matters if we keep loosing audio. Time will tell, but hope fades all to quickly for those of us who've been waiting for this release.

I'm watching an AVOCADO Nirvana video with Dirac 3 on a NAD. He's clicking corrected and it's showing live updates. I have nothing on my graph when clicking corrected.

Was able to access/check all the boxes when using Dirac and they worked. Was surprizingly easy and even intuitive. I was able to adust the frequency correction windows and see the anticipated correction result (using the checkboxes).

First impressions mostly favorable. Watched Ready Player One and it sounded at least as good as I remember pre-calibration - seemed to get more sound from my tops. Seems to have tamed some room modes with excess energy in the 100-250Hz range that have always been troublesome. Will try some familiar music tomorrow and post my impressions.

How does one load a filter after you are out of the creation mode?
I went into Dirac and attempted to load the filter I created with my new Umik-1 and it gave me an error message. Something about the files created for six channels......
So....it appears that my Preset 2 created using the Umik-1 filter did not download to the XMC-2....even though it said it did.
Is there a way to load this filter or do I need to redo everything?

It's getting late so I'll have to play tomorrow. I have one filter created with the Emotiva mic, but was excited about the Umik-1.

Went to watch a movie via a Sony 4k player and lost Audio - shows PCM 7.1. Switching sources even trying balanced analog in didn't fix things. Tried using the front power reset option - LOST the DAM Network connection. Looks like I'm back to flipping the flippin switch on the back and praying that I've waited long enough for the network switch to repent and be born again . I really want to love this processor but I've seen this crap go back and forth for 1.5+ years. When it works it SOUNDS GREAT - BUT...

Switching sources no longer works, at least for me when you lose audio. I have only lost audio with Directv so far. The front six second push button works most of the time, as long as you wait 60 seconds or more. I usually wait a couple minutes. Rear rocker is last resort. I always unplug the black box from power unless I'm doing Dirac. Loss of audio is not good, but I'm going to say I'm confident they will fix this. It's had to have patience, but all you can do is report it.

The problem with audio loss/lockup is that it is painfully reminiscent of the very beginnings v. 1.0; thankfully minus the random scarry static noise. I wonder if they have reverted some settings back to where we started thinking that with a larger install base problems like mine become statistically less significant. There's no information I can give Emotiva that I haven't already given them on multiple occasions. I've tried to troubleshoot things with Lonnie 2-3 times in the past. The fact that I'm not the only one having problems with audio loss should mean Emo will have less difficulty duplicating it - still leaves one shaking their head as to why it didn't show up during beta. Emo obiously needs a greater variety of beta testers, a LOT more (...then again, some would say us users have served that function).

I just ran through the update myself here. I did the update, waited 60 seconds. Powered up, did a Factory Reset, power cycled. When things came backup and I restored my settings I found I could no longer test the levels across all of my channels, the front display showed PCM 0.0 but if I played music on my Apple Tv all the channels where active. I turned off VOS, cycled again and everything seems to be working like it should be.
To be fair I stopped using VOS last year. I was having problems with it on earlier firmware releases.I saw an update that claimed it addressed/improve VOS and changed the default. I gave it a try and at first things seemed good but about 3 weeks later my processor locked up. I went through all the normal methods of trying to shut the system down and eventually had to use the rocker switch on the back. The processor never recovered even with nothing but a power cable plugged in. Emotiva had to send me a new RMC. They were really great handling the situation especially considering when it happened and the time frame I had to receive the replacement.
Since then I haven't really trusted VOS and things seem to work better with it off though it would certainly be nice to use it again. It's of course hard to know if the problem I had was fully attributed to VOS. I don't have those details though hopefully Emotiva found something useful on the unit I shipped back. I've been lurking around waiting to see if there are more updates to it or if there are more complaints around VOS. With it off though I haven't really had any problems. I don't have an exceptionally complex input/output setup though, about 90% of my content rolls through an Apple Tv. (I did away with my cable box.)
As a side note I would say be careful with using the rocker switch on the back of the unit. It really should be a last resort. As an embedded linux system you can definitely corrupt things if you lose power prematurely or are forced to deal with a fatal condition. Based on conversations with Emotiva there is no way to re-flash the firmware on these processors on your own if something corrupts the firmware. There is no built-in tftp or firmware recovery mode that is part of the on-board rom. I'm not sure if that will change or not anytime soon. Here's hoping it does since many other processors offer this and for good reason. To be fair I'm not sure it would have saved my first RMC or not though.
I use also use CEC but no ARC, if you don't enable CEC Apple Tv won't provide you with Atmos or Dobly Digital+.

I volunteer 😉 I have had the static thing several times this weekend.

Did you make sure it was set for that after setting up Dirac? If you did any kind of reset it may have changed that setting back to 2.0. Of course if 2.0 works for you then please disregard this post. Best Regards, Steve A.

Has not prevented loss of audio

Since I have installed the FW 2.0, I had to reset and reboot at least 4 times for audio lost and unit freeze. Version 2.0 is definitely not full proof.
