Anybody ready for season 2? We are looking forward to it very much! Mrs likes it as much as I do, and The Child is really cute! Can’t wait to see how Rhys season unfolds.

We’ve been waiting for it as well, haven’t started yet, maybe this weekend (have to continue Star Trek: Discovery S3 too)

My wife hates Star Wars, but is totally into the Mandalorian. As for myself, I've found I'm enjoying this series more than any of the new Star Wars movies. Its got a very unique vibe and great characters.

I wish they released all episodes at once, not once a week...

Netflix spoiled everyone by dropping all episodes on release date; one episode a week is old school thinking.

Netflix spoiled everyone by dropping all episodes on release date; one episode a week is old school thinking. It a double edge sword in a way. When you have a show as big as Mandalorian its much easier to create a viral sensation around it by releasing one episode a week. That way you entire audience is on the same page. On a binge release I may be on episode 2 and you may be on 6 etc. It makes it harder for things like podcast, chat rooms, just people talking about the show etc to be all on the same page. But binge releases generally have better rates of people watching an entire season all the way through, more so on those kinda B level shows that are good, but not must watch every week shows.

We only steam in our house, so if a show is released weekly, we generally wait 2 - 4 weeks before thinking about watching it, so we can watch it on our terms. However, if something else is fully released during that time frame, we'll push off the other show and typically forget to circle back. So I agree that it's a double edge sword for sure...

The Star Wars movies are a modern version of a "big adventure"... with side plots and individual story lines woven in... like a war movie. The Mandalorian is more of a modern day knight (complete with shining armor)... or perhaps the white hat gunfighter in a western.
Both appeal to different audiences. And both can get a bit boring after a while. It's really hard to come up with a new plot, or a new story, these days.
(One more big fight between the Jedi and the Imperial storm troopers... or one more shootout at some corral... or on Main Street.)
Does anyone remember "Have Gun: Will Travel" ? I ask because that's the one Mandalorian most reminds me of...

Remember Festus? It was on just before or right after Gunsmoke which was also a favorite. But the Mandelorian reminds me of Clint Eastwood's man with no name.

Did you know Gene Roddenberry wrote 20 or so episodes of HGWT? Cheers Gary

Who’s ready for the final episode of season 2? Mrs and I are both happy and sad as many questions may be answered and many more will be left to be answered in a year! We always make an evening of it, munchies / meal and such! Even on the episodes that have lasted a short 33 minutes. Tonight (for us) we’ll have fun.
Anyone have theories or such? I know some may not give a hoot, What’s wrong with you? LOL JK.

Mark Hi Mark, are you watching it or are you WATCHING it. There are so many subtleies that you can relate to if you know your Star Wars canon, we find ourselves going "Oh, I remember that" and "that's who he/she is" more than once in most episodes. In the first season I found if that I just sat back and waited to be "entertained" a lot of the interesting stuff just flowed past, so I went back and watched it again and then the underlying story threads came through. For the second season we started watching it from the first episode and soaked it in along the journey. Cheers Gary
