I'm using Stealth 8 via USB out of my computer. I wanted to add a tiny bump of mids, so I downloaded a simple 10 band equalizer app called SpeakerAmp. I assume there is serious internal DSP at work in the Stealths. Does tweaking the signal upstream complicate things?
Bonus Stupid Question: Is there an audiophile word that describes what I'm experiencing? I've been in love with my Stealth 8 for five years. I pulled out my 30 year old Mirage 360 (8 inch 2-way bookshelf), and I think they're amazing. So much so that I'm trying to get my Stealths to sound as warm as the Mirage. Anyway, is there a term to describe the act of twisting a speaker to be something it's not?

Nothing wrong with what you’re doing but most likely unnecessary to get where you want to be (or close anyway). Before bringing that redundant software into the mix, I would review your PC hardware, and software updates. If all is working together properly, you should have plenty of flexibility within to get there. Bill
